I replaced the 3 resistors and the convergance amps on the Hitchi 53 in ultravision (rear projection). But I noticed a problem when I soldered the amps in place that I bridged one of the solder joints, I plugged the tv and nothing happened so I rechecked and desoldered the bridge joint and still no picture. Are there fuses that go when this happens or is the amps no good again. ANY HELP Thanks
The IC is no doubt bad due to powering it up with the solder bridge. may possibly need entire convergence board unless you have the service manual and troubleshoot it.

If the convergence is so far out that you cannot adjust with your customer access menu then You will probably need the convergence ICs replaced & possibly a fuse or resistor or 2. Then a complete convergence will be necessary & I HIGHLY recommend having a professional technician perform this task.

Sounds like the convergence has failed which is a common problem with rear projection TV sets. This video has more details on this and info on how to fix it,
sounds like the convergence circuit has decided to quit working.. hitachi uses convergence output i.c.'s for this in the circuit. one is probably bad. suggest replacing both though..
have you checked the 2.2 ohm 2watt resistors? If the led blinks three times the resistors will almost always have at least one that will be blown and need replacement.

the problem is convergance the amplifiers (two of them) have failed. posibly some resistors or pico fuses are bad along with them. they need to be replaced then realiegn the convegance. the cost of repair may be $200.00 to $350.00 depending on the tech you get.
