If your ps3 cannot see your wireless network try going to the control panal and network options, manage networks and make sure that your network is "discoverable" also make sure that your firewall is not "locked down" with any antivirus or windows defender, and in some instances you have to goto manage network connections and then wireless and then select your ps3 ip address as trusted in your network! you can goto 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.2.1 to see what your internet key is ex: wpa there is also wireless and security settings in there!!

My playstation 3 has been having bad connection problems ever since feburary. haven't been able to log on to my psn account nor can my browsers direct me to the search page. I did the network settings...

This seems to be a wireless issue that you are having. In this case, ensure that your router/modem is working as it should be. Check the modem/router's login page and ensure its status is functioning with its intended speeds.

Place the PS3 close to the router and check that it is connecting with the router. If not, then plug a Ethernet cable and connect to the internet with that. If the PS3 connects, then the wireless module inside the PS3 is having a connection issue. If this is the case, contact a authorized PS3 dealer to replace the module.

I would recommend always using an Ethernet connection as it is always more secure and speeds are the fastest using this method.

Hope this helps.

All of my computers connect to the internet but my ps3 wont

Let's try the simplest things first. Restart the PS3. Then try restarting your router (unplug/replug it in). Make sure all the cables are nice and snug where they should be in both your router and the PS3.

If going for a wired connection, confirm that the cable to and port/cable slot on your router are good (try another cable and cable slot). If going for a wireless connection, confirm that other devices can access your router wirelessly.

Still having trouble? Check your internet settings on the PS3. Navigate to XMB > Settings > Network Settings > Internet Connection Settings. Run through it, selecting Automatic or Auto-Detect whenever possible. If that didn't work try setting it up manually. Here's a guide explaining each option of the manual set up process.

Hope this helps!

Once you have all the wireless settings of the router, you are ready to connect the play station or the x-box to the wireless network.

Play Station

Now go to the settings page of the PLAY STATION

NETWORK SETTINGS ==>
INTERNET CONNECTION SETTINGS ==>
WIRELESS SETTINGS ==>
If you get confirmation screen displayed stating that you will be disconnected from the Internet. click YES ==>
select EASY ==>
select WIRELESS ==>
SCAN ==>
you will see your SSID ( wireless network name)==>
select the security settings ( router wireless settings)==>
enter the KEY ==>
select the IP address settings EASY ==>
save your settings ==>
Test the connection .

I want to get the wireless connection to my ps3. How do i do this?

First you will need to check the wireless settings of the router.
What settings do you need to check ?
SSID ( network name )
wireless channel
wireless security type
If secured then network key or password.
To check these settings you will need to open the router set up page. This is the page where you will fin all the settings of the router.
Once you get all the settings of the router, you can try to connect to the wireless network on your PS3.
You will need to go to network settings on PS3. Go to Internet connection settings , wireless connection.
There you will find the option to connect to the network.

I have a PS3 in one room and my computer and internet in another. I have bought a wireless router but it is hooked up in the room with the computer. I don't want to have to run a cable to the other end of...

Check your wireless network name in your computer if it is wireless enabled.
Then go to your PS3. Go into the network settings and check if the wireless connection is detected.
When you check the network settings, make sure that ip and dns settings are set to automatic.
After that you would need to open some ports on the comp for your PS3 so that you can play online.
Also let us know the make and model no of your router so that we could tell how to open the ports on the router GUI.
Very first thing your PS3 should detect the wireless connection on it.

How do i reset our wireless network setting on my playstation 3?

On the back or side of your router their is a button that resets it to the original factory settings. Hold that button down for 5 or more seconds then release it.

Everything should be back to normal, also you will have to reconfigure that router

On the bottom of the router the user name as password might be------> user= Admin Pass=password
