I am having trouble getting power to my new cd player. I have the orange battery wire hooked up, and also the ground wire is hooked up, and there is a red wire on the cd player that is a Ignition wire. Where does this wire need to be wired to?

The installation instructions including wiring diagrams begin on page 20 of the manual.

yellow to yellow main power wire
red to red key wire
black to black ground
speaker wires are green purple for rear speakers and white and grey for front speakers solid wire color is power and black lines is ground
orange is dimmer switch you wont need it
blue wire is for power anntenna your car shouldn't have it and blue with white stripe is remote wire if you have an amp it will shut off your amp when hooked up any other wire unnessary for your car some head units need a anntenna adapter to work good luck. remember ground before anything and disconnect the battery so you don't blow the fuse

Hello! Since I do not know if your vehicle is equipped with the Standard or Premium System I'll give both sets of wiring...You can identify which system you have by looking at the color of the ground wire...

Red=Standard and Black/Green =Premium


Standard...Constant +12=Green/Yellow...
Switched=Yellow/Black...Ground=Red...
Illumination=Blue/Red...

Standard Speaker
FR + White
FR - Green/Orange
FL + Orange/Green
FL - Light Blue/White
RR + Orange/Red
RR - Black/White
RL + Pink/Green
RL - Pink/Blue

Premium...Only power difference is Ground=Black/Green

Premium Speaker

FR+ White/Red
FR- Brown
FL+ Green
FL- White/Orange
RR+ Purple/White
RR- Blue
RL+ Blue/Black
RL- Yellow

with high output stereos you shouldn't hook them up without speakers hooked up my shortout the outputs

all you should need for power is
acc
bat+
ground

Check fuse on stereo head unit.

As long as you have connected the ground(black) try adding one wire at a time to the live(red). If possible try connection each wire one at a time to the power line and then both together. If nothing has blown(fuses) and the unit starts working then you can try by trial & error method the remaining wires. You should be able to figure out which wire is required and if there are any extra wires like cellular phone(mute) and then decide whether to connect them or keep them open.....sodeep

well if your trying to actively wire it up with the car battery still connected that is why you are blowing fuses. just a heads up too if you have a live connection while hooking up the cd player you could short out other electrical devices and you could be in alot more trouble thatn just blowing fuses. the black wire is what is blowing fuses its because you have it hooked up wrong to a wire that is sending voltage not recieving voltage. ground the black wire to the actual chassis instead of hooking it to the ground wire from the harness or whatever color its grounded to which shouldnt be anything but black if you have the black wire hooked up to ANYTHING that isnt black that is why you are popping fuses. so hook up the red yellow and make your own ground you shouldnt have any problems after that.

You need:

a 12v + source from the battery (yellow wire)
a 12v + switched with the key (red wire)
a Ground (black wire)

then you need your four speakers hooked up, i'm unsure of the color codes on them but they are usually pairs i.e. green and green with black stripe for one speaker white with black stripe for another etc.

other wires such as illumination (orange) and power antenna (blue) are optional

the illumination (orange) you would connect to 12v + from a headlight switch and it would cause the unit to dim when you turned your headlights on

The power antenna (blue) is used, as the name implies to control a power antenna if you have one, or more commonly as the signal to turn an audio amp on (on the remote connection)

Red- Constant Power -
Yellow - Ignition power - 12v
Black - Ground
Blue - Ant & memory
Orange - Dimmer


All the wires that have 2 of the same color are speaker wires
ex - green, and green with stripe. The one with a stripe is the Negitive

In most cases the red and yellow need to be together to get the cd player to start if you dont have 2 hook ups for both constant and ignition powers.

The black ground can go to any bolt that is screwed into a metal grounded object. The blue and orange are not needed unless you have a harness that supports the dimmer and memory feature.
If you cd player works with this but wont keep settings or time, hook up the blue to the power so it can constantly save your settings.

All the speaker wires a total of 4 diffrent sets of 2 can go anywhere as long as you dont want to fade or bal your speakers if so you need to test them by hooking up 1 speaker at a time to find out where it leads to. GOOD LUCK

just solved a similar problem on my car i bought a Cd/dvd player for my 2000 concord lxi i hooked it up and hooked a rear-view camera and it worked perfect but wen i turned the headlights on the cd player shuts of so i disconnected the orenge wire that came out of my cd player from the orange on the aftermarket harness then grounded the ping wire (rear con wire) it worked fine but i couldn't see any footage from the camera for that i bought a long red power wire and hooked it to the red camera power wire that hooked from camera to reverse light and took the other end of the new wire i bought and hooked it to the orange wire that came out of the cd player now every thing works fine. you probably dont have the right power to run both cd and head lights thats why you need constant power to run both just hook up an extra wire between a positive wire to the orange dimmer wire its simple;

ground to ground (black)
12+ positive to 12+ positive (red)
and an extra wire (usually a red 18 guage wire bought mine at walmart) to the dimmer wire from the back of the cd player (orange)
