That's a big ask - but if you reply giving the following information I will try to help.

Manufacturer and model of your PC
Is it a built-in webcam on a laptop, or a separate device?
If a separate device what is it - make and model number?
What operating system do you have - Windows XP, Vista etc?

Reply here with a comment and I will try to help you.

As far as I can determine this notebook does not have a built in webcam. It could be that it is a different spec. to the ones I am looking at. Please tell me in which country you purchased it.

Can you reassure me that it does have a camera (can you see a camera-like lens in the centre of the screen surround, above the top of the screen?). Sorry to be pedantic, but this is really puzzling me.

I'd be happy to be proved wrong, and pleased to help further in any case.

Can't get my HP Webcam to work

The webcam is apparently installed fine. You now need some way to contact the people you want to cam with. This is where the messenger part comes in. You will need one to contact people and talk to them with. Some suggestions are Yahoo, aol, or msn messenger to name a few. Yahoo is easy to use, works across most messenger platforms and will automatically install the webcam for you to use. Then all you will need is thier Im(internet messenger) name to contact them. Hope this helps you.

Pc Mic and web cam help

No, you don't need to do anything more. That should do it. Logitech also has a webcam with a built in mic that would work for you as well.

My web cam wont work w/vista

Yeah I had same problem with mine, when someone tries viewing it, all they got was a black screen too. Downloading an "Older Version Of Yahoo Messenger" wlll not solve the problem, as being "Older" it would be even more less likely that it would have supported you Webcam back then, let alone now.
Unfortunately, just one of those things. You can either Buy a New Cam that comes with Vista Support, Backup your whole system & format the hard drive & install Windows XP. Or you can just sit back and hope that Support will be added for your Webcam in the near future.
(Although 2 yrs later and I still can't see My OLD Webcam listed as compatible with Vista, so may have a long wait).

Webcam pictures?????

if you mean still pictures then this will depend on the software you usualy get with the product.. if you installed it then there will be an option while running the program (button or menu option maybe even a hot-key setup) to take a picture... ocasionally there will be an actual button on the top of the web-cam to take the picture but nearly always need the associated software to use it

"load main image failed switch to recovery mode" error. need help please?

For this problem i believe try to do the above steps. switch to recovery mode then connect the player to the computer. When the player is connected to the computer open the version.txt document and see if your firmware is up to date if not try to update the firmware of your player. I believe the latest one is 18 or something. If your firmware is up to date try to call sandisk, i had this problem once but they resolve it with the steps i have said.
