Card is not working, what do i do
Go to device manager. Double click network adapters. The linksys wireless notebook adapter should appear under NETWORK ADAPTERS. If it is there, right click the Linksys Wireless Notebook adapter then click properties, it should show THE DEVICE IS WORKING PROPERLY. If not you need to uninstall and reinstall the device.
SOURCE: lost cd rom to download Linksys wireless G notebook adapter
Hello there.
You can download the drivers (that are usually on the CD) from here. Please select your 'Version' from the list. You can look at the back of the device to find out which one you have, as there are many called WPC54G. Then after choosing the version click GO then click on 'Driver' to start the download.
This will let your wireless device function on your laptop computer.
Hope this helps.
SOURCE: how can i connect to enternet f i have a linksys
hi
this is a connector to the laptop and now you'll need a source...
a source can be a service provider with wireless connection or a free hotspots or
a home based wired internet connection with wireless router
if you have a wireless router then you may have to call the ISP for the DNS server settings if any required but for others i think the auto IP configuration settings should work fine
cheers
pls rate if this was any help

Will not connect to network on its own. Limited or no connectivity. Cannot get IP address.
Have to go into network settings and click on advanced settings or network settings without changing anything. Once I hit ok, it will connect and stay connected until laptop goes into hibernation.
Once it loses connection, you have to repeat steps above.
I am using WEP key and MAC addressing. But turned off to troubleshoot and still have same problem.
Router is a Linksys WRK54G. Tried updating driver for router but get Pattern file error. Driver for adapter is up-to-date.
This is on an XP system. Other wireless devices using router are not having this problem.
I recently go this laptop, it's not brand new, it's a Dell Latitude, and it has Windows 2000 installed on it (IDK if that makes a difference...). Anyways, when I tried to install the adapter, it says it couldn't find anywhere to place the software. I have no way to get on the internet and this is a huge inconvinence.
