Service engine soon lamp and check engine lamp have a 16 pin connector under dash in drivers area most parts store can retrieve codes for you for free these codes are in several forms P series are powertrain codes (engine, transmission) B series codes are Body codes ( A/C,electrical windows mirrors) C series are Chassis codes (abs, transfer case, air ride) U series codes are Communication codes between all modules that need to share information..
I suggest re-check to read and note your fault codes acdording with this read codes procedure, with out starting the engine: turn the ignition
key ON, OFF, ON, OFF, and finally ON.
The check engine light on the dash
will begin to flash. The light will flash the first number of the first
digit pause and flash the number of the second digit. Example: five
flashes, pause, three flashes = Code 53 PCM failure or Code 54 no cam
shaft position sensor signal from distributor etc, etc.
Try this and send us this fault code to send you additional detaild.
Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I'll appreciate
your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about
this answer.
Hi Angela: We cannot understand your "345155" fault code, keep in mind that 1993-1997 codes just have two digits. I suggest re-check to read and note your fault codes acdording with this read codes procedure, with out starting the engine: turn the ignition
key on, off, on, off, and finally on.

12 and 55. The 55 means end of code session, the 12 means no distributor reference. Both of these codes are normal with the engine not running, so do not go out and purchase a dstributor. Is there another problem with the vehicle, or did you just want to know the codes? Comment back to continue, thanks.
Try again and verify, for example. 3 flashes, pause, then 3 more, is 33. etc. 5 flashes, pause 5 more, is code 55.(end of message) always 2 digit number, then slightly longer pause in between those 2 digits.
You will need a OBD 2 scan tool to retreve your code.If you hve not one go to a garage they will retreve the fault code for you. However you might consider makeing the purchase of one through a car part store near you.
Extracting Fault Codes:
Turn the ignition switch ON, OFF, ON, OFF, ON and observe the CHECK
ENGINE LIGHT. The CHECK ENGINE LIGHT should begin to flash a series of
codes. The flashes will be separated by short an long pauses. The long
pauses separate the "ones" and "tens" positions, and each code from the
next. A code 55 will be displayed at the end of the test.
