My all-in-one printer keeps telling me that I need to change the drum soon. I bought a new drum inserted it into the printer and now I can't print anything. Plus, it is still telling me that I need to...

This message would continue to appear if the drum counter was not reset when you replaced the drum. To reset the drum counter, follow the instructions listed below.

  1. Open the front cover.
  2. Press the Options key on the control panel.
The display will show "REPLACE DRUM - 1.YES 2.NO".
  3. Press 1 to reset the drum count.
  4. Close the front cover.
Note
Brother strongly recommends that customers do not use generic drum units and/or toner cartridges, or refill their Brother toner cartridge. Each Brother laser printer is designed to work at pre-set temperatures that are matched exactly to each of our individual toner formulations. Each individual component is designed to work with the other to ensure quality and reliability. Using non-Brother supplies may affect the hardware performance, print quality and machine reliability. The Brother limited warranty does not apply to any problem that is caused by the use of unauthorized third party drum units, toner cartridges or toner.
If you are using a genuine Brother drum and toner and after following this procedure the unit continues to show "CHANGE DRUM SOON", your machine may require service. Please contact the Customer Service Center.

1.5 inch black line on incoming faxes

Sounds like a paper clip (or similar) has fallen into the machine and is next to the drum.
Remove the drum unit and see if anything is in the machine or on the drum unit.
Replace the drum if it is close to the end of its life.

Black stains on ep2010 cs pro i tried to clean the drum now it do

You may can be lucky and just pull out the drum unit and clean the build up of toner that is between the drum unit and developer unit. This will slow down having to replace the drum and developer, but it could fix THIS problem.

Toner for fax machine 2920

If your machine is a Brother Intellifax 2920, it does take a TN-350 toner cartridge. Maybe you were wanting to replace the Drum Unit instead, DR-350. I'll bet this info is useful, yes?

Hello, I have a Minolta Magicolor 2490 MF, printer/copier. The display shows "low toner". My question is this: Is it possible for the machine to identify the seperate toner levels, so I can replace only...

hi,
if it has a 4 toners which color are separated (the cyan, magenta, yellow and black) then you can replace a low toner one at a time. for example if the black color prompt you that it needs a replacement then you can put off the black toner without changing the other color not until such time it prompt you that it needs replacement. For replacing it I believe it has an instructional manual or if it's still under warranty you can ask assistance from your dealer to help you how.

CC and drum Icon will not go out after changing toner cartridge

This Machine needs a copy cartridge. Replacing the toner will not clear it. The copy cartridge is the drum unit which is why the drum light is on. With the new copy cartridge a chip on the cartridge will reset the counter and clear the "CC" and the drum light. If you cant find this I can send you one. I believe on this model it is user replaceable.

Poor quality of copies

If it is a real genuine Brother toner. Not a reman. You may also need to change the drum. If you have a user manual, it will show you where the drum life setting is in the menu structure. Make sure the little glass window inside on the right is clean so it can read the toner level. Make sure the toner save feature is turned off.
