Easier to Read Pro 651 652 106 197 WS1040 1065 PSR 500 600 Digital Scanner... (enhanced instructions)

PSREdit500 Configuration Editor for the PSR 500 PSR 600 PRO 106 and PRO... (paid software) You'll need a data cable to use this or other software. I use this for my Pro-106.

The information is found on pages 90-92 of the owners manual, which you can download for free in PDF format from the link below.
Remember: Erasing like this is permanent, make SURE its what you want to do.

I can get every channel but myhome town which i did get until today and can still get on my old scanner

If you programmed the correct frequency, you should be getting reception. Check www.RadioReference.com to verify the frequency. Otherwise, you may be too far from the transmitter to receive signals. Try your scanner in other locations, check your antenna, and try receiving the PD on another scanner.

The MARCS - Ohio Multi-Agency Radio Communications system - is a Motorola Type II SmartZone Omnilink Trunking system that utilizes APCO-25 digital transmissions. Your BC145XL is not compatible with trunking or digital systems. In order to follow the MARCS you will need one of the following scanners:
GRE PSR-500, PSR-600
Radio Shack PRO-106, PRO-197, PRO-96, PRO-2096
Uniden BC250D, BC785D, BC296D, BC796D, BCD396T, BCD396T, BCD996T, BCD996XT, or the brand new HomePatrol-1

you will have to buy the Radio Shack USB cable 20-047 and install
the driver for it and then I downloaded a program named
"Win97" from the www.starrsoft.com website as listed
on page 21 of the Pro-164 manual. The cable costs
$34.99 and with tax you are looking at about $37.88.

The "Win97" software must be registered for it to work
after a 30-day free trial period. That's approx $25.00.

This is the ONLY WAY to go !! You put in everything
on the software GUI and then upload it to the PRO-164.
Works like a champ . but if you have tried doing this.i advise do it again.again run the program by connecting the cable again.if you have not tried it then do it again. if still the same problem.then it might be the problem with the scanner.get it rechecked from radio shack. there are many many users facing this same problem this particular model of radioshack scanner and other model in which this same problem occurs is pro-197. get it checked with radio shack.tech. is it a digital scanner? You know that everyone has gone digital there fore making that kind of scanner outdated and if you are trying to listen to police u wont pick anything up. I was told that some raido shacks will re program it for you.
