I purchased a Wii console about 5 months ago. I never played the thing because I dident have any games. I just recently got a game, went to turn it on and there was no lights and it wouldn't turn on. I checked the plug and tried several plugs through the house. What is going on?

First, Check your wii adaptor, In normal conditions the wii adapter provides the output 12volt. You can test the output using multimeter or a 12volt lamp.

then
plug it into the outlet, If the light is still off/flashing, disconnect the AC Adapter unplug from the wall outlet, wait 2 minutes and plug it back into the outlet. Turn the console power ON.

hopefully this help..

I bought a cheap Wii that does not include Wii Sports. I borrowed a Wii Sports game but it will not play in that console. However, I am able to play Wii Fit and Zelda in it. Recently I went out and bought...

Maybe the Wii Sports game only works from where it was with the console. The Zelda and the Wii Fit game, not so sure. It could be the game, possibly dusty or something. Try cleaning the disc and see what happens. Hope that helps.

Wii makes a buzzing sound when discs are running

The noise is the wii working extra hard to read the disk the lens might be dirty. Your wii might also have a bomb in it.............Just kidding. I would try cleaning the inside and if all is bad send it in to get fixed

Wii Console will only play Wii Sports

Update the Wii whilst connected to the internet and that may work.

Nintendo wii

(befory you read this, please excuse my leinghyness)
Well,

If you take apart the Wii very carefully, you might be able to get the game out (which you will most likely never be able to play again because the clicking noise is most likely the disc being rubbed against something) without causing damage to the Wii. Doing this is risking causing damage to your Wii (and yourself if you are too dumb to un-plug it.) so if you have bought your Wii less than a year ago,

Nintendo of America Inc. ("Nintendo") warrants to the original purchaser that the hardware product shall be free from defects in material and workmanship for twelve (12) months from the date of purchase. If a defect covered by this warranty occurs during this warranty period, Nintendo or a NINTENDO AUTHORIZED REPAIR CENTER will repair the defective hardware product or component, free of charge. The original purchaser is entitled to this warranty only if the date of purchase is registered at point of sale or the consumer can demonstrate, to Nintendo's satisfaction, that the product was purchased within the last 12 months.

if you purchased your Wii more than a year ago,
