Hello there You may not see a paper jam.
This may work for you, it has worked for many here I given this advice so gave it a try it could work for you. Generally when this happens, something has fallen into the printer, or a piece of paper has been jammed in there.

First step, remove the ink cartridge, and turn the printer upside down and gently shake it, see if anything comes out.

If nothing goes, or you can't hear anything rattling around, get a piece of cardstock paper (60lb or heavier) and gently push this through the printer, to see if it will help push out what might be stuck in there.

And gave the rode that the ink slides on a good clean and maybe a bit oil on cloth and wipe the rod with it.

Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

Jammed paper

You might need to update your drivers. If this doesn't help, there might be some loose gear inside the feeder . Try checking if there are also objects stuck.

Hello FixYa, I have a problem with my Brother MFC-240C. Everytime I try to print something I get a paper jam error message. I have tried opening the back cover and removing the paper but it still does...

This is not a fix, but a troubleshooting step. After you perform this step, please respond and let me know the outcome.

Take a small stack of paper (less than 50 sheets) and place flat in a refrigerator overnight. After the paper has been in there for at least 8 hours, pull it out and fan it (to remove static cling between the sheets). Place in the printer and see if the paper will feed correctly.

If it does, then your problem is high humidity which is a common cause for paper sticking together and causing paper jams. If it doesn't, then you've probably got a torn piece of paper somewhere in the paper path that is causing a jam. Either way, let me know your results so I can help you troubleshoot your issue.

Paper or specialty media misfeeds
These are possible solutions if paper or specialty media misfeeds or skews, or if multiple sheets feed or stick together.
Try one or more of the following:
Check paper condition

  • Use only new, unwrinkled paper.

Check paper loading

  • Load a smaller amount of paper into the printer.

  • Load paper with the print side facing you. (If you are not sure which side is the printable side, see the instructions that came with the paper.)

Remove each page as it is printed

  • Remove each page as it exits, and let it dry completely before stacking.

Adjust the paper guides

  • When using media less than 8.5 inches wide

  • To rest against the edges of the paper or media, making sure it does not buckle

When powering up printer receive message "press power then clear paper jam" I cannot find any paper jammed in the printer

Power your printer off and unplug it. Try manually feeding a sheet of heavy weight paper (cardstock) through the paper path to help push out any torn scraps of paper left from a previous jam, or any staples or paper clips etc that may have fallen into the paper path. You may need to do this multiple times. You can also try blowing in canned air to remove and paper dust that might be laying on the sensors causing a false jam message. Good luck!

I have a Lexmark X2690 printer that is 3 months old and all of a sudden the paper will not feed. It goes part way in and then jams. I can't see any reason for the jam but when I pull the paper out there is...

From Lexmark support:

1. Make sure:
· You use paper designed for inkjet printers.
· If you are using photo, glossy, or heavyweight matte paper, you load it with the glossy or printable side facing you. (If you are not sure which side is the printable side, see the instructions that came with the paper.)
· The paper is not used or damaged.
· If you are using specialty paper, you follow the instructions that came with it.
· You do not force paper into the printer.
2. Before loading paper the first time, slide the paper guides out toward the edges of the paper support.

3. Load the paper vertically in the center of the paper support, and adjust the paper guides to rest against the edges of the paper.

NOTE: Check inside the printer to ensure that all the paper is removed. Any small pieces of paper left in the printer will continue to cause paper jams.

In addition,

Paper jams inside the All-In-One

Step Action 1 Press the pattlnk_5152006_1334-power.jpg button to turn off the All-In-One. 2 Lift the scanner unit. 3 Snap the scanner support into position to hold up the scanner unit. 4 Firmly grasp the paper, and gently pull it out. 5 While lifting the scanner unit, press the scanner support back until it slides into the slot, and close the scanner unit. 6 Press the pattlnk_5152006_1334-power.jpg button to reset the All-In-One.

Hope this helps.

Pixma mp480 jams paper!!! It occurs on the left side Ive tried different paper and it continues to do the same thing I really disappointing because I just bought 4 months ago and I thought canon was a good...

Please try this and also try cleaning the printer and the paper rollers that it has.

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Remove any paper trays. Inspect them for wrinkled or damaged paper.
  3. Also open the back cover of the printer if this model has one.
  4. Open any other doors that give access to the printer's paper path and to the toner or ink cartridge.
  5. If necessary, remove the toner or ink cartridge. Place it away from light/ sun light to avoid damaging it.
  6. If you find a piece of jammed paper, remove it by holding it with both hands and pulling firmly. The goal is to keep the paper from tearing. If several pieces are jammed together, try pulling out the middle piece first to loosen the jam.
  7. If the paper does tear, try rotating the roller gears manually to free the paper. Don't force anything, though. Do this step especially if the jam message comes up repeatedly without any obvious paper jam, there may be a small tear of paper inside.
  8. Ones the printer is free of paper Replace the toner or ink cartridge and paper trays, close any doors you opened and turn the printer back on.
  9. If the printer paper jam message still appears, then there is still some paper in the printer. Reinspect the paper path.
  10. see alternative if the problem is still not solved.

alternative :
Load a piece of thick paper, for example photo paper and press the resume button (may be diffrent button on diffrent models) a few times to the printer picks up the paper and puts it through the machine.

SCX 4521F multi/f keeps reporting "Document Jam"

Hello there,
If the paper is lodged too far into the printer and can't be removed: Press the power button to turn the printer off.
Pull firmly on the paper to remove it. If you can't reach the paper because it is too far in, raise the front cover and remove the paper from the front of the printer.
Close the front cover.
Press the power button to turn the printer back on.
Resend your document to print.

Ensure that:
The paper is a recommended paper for Laser printers.
You do not force the paper down into the printer when you load it. For example, if you are loading letter or A4 size paper, the top edge of the paper should extend above the top of the sheet feeder.
The printer is on a flat, level surface.
The left paper guide is against the side of the paper.
You do not load too much paper in the sheet feeder. Depending on the thickness of your paper, the sheet feeder can hold up to 100 sheets of paper.
The left paper guide does not cause the paper to bend in the sheet feeder.
Your printer feeds regular paper as expected. If regular paper feeds without causing problems, load the envelopes vertically against the right side of the sheet feeder. Make sure the paper guide is against the side of the envelopes.
Envelopes or the appropriate specialty papers are selected in the printer driver.
You are using a paper or envelope size supported by your printer.
do not forget to rate this solution....good luck

LexMark 5400 Series All-In-One Printer

Hi,

To clear a paper jam:
  • Pull Carefully
If the sheet of paper is visible at the output slot of the printer (in other word, it stopped on its way out of the printer), try pulling carefully on it. If it pulls smoothly and easily, then carefully pull it the rest of the way out. If there is resistance, then stop and go on to the next step.
  • Open the Cover
Open the printer cover and wait (in the case of an inkjet printer) for the carriage to stop moving. Carefully, slowly pull out any paper that is caught there.
  • Take Care
Do NOT pull paper out from where it was feeding into the printer (where the blank paper enters the device). The rollers on your printer may only go in one direction, and if you force them the wrong way, you could damage the machine.
Be careful of the following:
  • Laser Printers
If you have a laser printer, be very careful when pulling out the paper -- laser printers can get hot.
  • Paper Shreds
If any paper tore, either during the jam or while you were removing them, remove any appliances that you can (paper trays, etc.) and look for the shreds of paper. Try to make sure nothing has been left behind.
If you have frequent paper jams:
  • Don't Overload
Overloading your paper tray can cause paper jams. Your manual may say that your input tray can hold 250 sheets -- but if you keep getting jams, try loading 225 sheets instead.
  • Check the Paper
Check the minimum/maximum paper weights that your printer can handle. Paper that is too thick, or too thin, can cause jams.
Goodluck..

Frequent paper jams.

Heavy cardstock and certain types of slick or coated paper can cause frequent paper jams. To better isolate the cause of your problem (machine or paper), try a new ream of regular 20 lb copy or laser paper.
  • Don't Overload

  • If you still get paper jams after this may be its time to clear the internal of the machine..You might want to have a look at the following link..
