The motion controls on a new wii remote have stoped working.. i can still use the pointer and move it but doing actions that require shakeing the controler wont work.. is there any way to fix this or will i have to buy a new controler
There is a very small circuit element inside the wiimote called an "accelerometer" (it heats a small vacuumed area to sense yaw, pitch and roll with thermometers).
It sounds to me like you have a malfunctioning accelerometer, which could be replaced in theory-- that sounds like an exciting challenge to someone whose electrically inclined, such as myself. However, doing so would require finding the correct replacement online and substantial soldering skills to replace it.
