Camera is not found or is being used by other application

Even if your computer is fine and the webcam software is installed, you can still get this message if you move from one application to another without re-booting the webcam software
The easiest way to do that is to unplug it from the USB port for a couple of seconds and plug it back in

HP Webcam Deluxe KQ246AA Not working correctly in XP

No solution, but I have precisely the same issue. I've reinstalled and removed ArcSoft many times, being careful to clean registries, etc but to no avail. The camera actually worked with Skype initially (plug and play), UNTIL I installed ArcSoft. So I think that ArcSoft "stepped" on a driver somewhere that I can't detect or repair. (I'm using "Driver Detective" but so far it hasn't helped) Will update if I find a fix.

My PC (running Vista) does not see my HP Webcam Deluxe. Why?

Fully, uninstall your drivers from Device Manager...then connect to internet and let the Vista detect the drivers automatically. Normally this is caused by Windows updates.
