Acer Aspire T-180 Memory Upgrade question

Hi, I have an Acer Aspire T-180 desktop. I am currently having 2x 512 unb pc2-4300 cl4 installed on 2 of the memory slots. I still have 2 empty slots available. I would like to put more ram in there. What are my options for the rest of the 2 slots? And what are the item description or part numbers (e.g. in terms of like 512 unb pc2-4300 cl4)? Thanks for your assistant!

Hello!

You can buy 2- 512 mb DDR2 memory. It should be the same spec with the two current memory.
Memory should be the same specs and capacity, you insert it to your slot 4-1GIG to maximize, in your setting i recommend another 2-512mb bcoz your current memory is 512 mb capacity.

Not advisable to insert diferent capacity or diferent brand memory bcoz it cause damage to the mainboard and memory also.

Up to 4 GB of DDR2 533/667/800 MHz SDRAM (dual-channel support on four DIMMs)

in your case, you can add more 2-512mb memory, DDR 2 refer to your current memory about about this number. 533/667/800 and follow.

Hello, You might be able to add 2GB more. 1GB per slot. You need to get the model # off your motherboard and verify what the maximum amount of memory it will support. 1GB per slot would be 4GB total but some Operating systems will only support 3GB. So some might be wasted if that is the case. You would need to use the same memory type. So if existing is PC2-4300, use the same. Hope this helps.

I have an Acer Aspire T180 and would like to upgrade the memory and add a wi-fi card. can you advise what cards I need to purchase?

Memory:
Looks like the Aspire T180 takes DDR2 533/667/800 memory. This is pretty easy to upgrade. Check to see how many memory slots your computer has (Probably 4, might only have 2). You should probably just replace what you have with new memory.
I recommend this memory:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231122
It is 2x 2GB modules. 4GB of RAM is a good amount of RAM to have, you will see a noticeable performance increase.

WiFi:
I would recommend a USB wifi adaptor. It is easy to instal and most ones work well, even the cheap ones. Just stick it in the back of your computer and forget it it's even there.

I recommend this one, I have been using it for 2 years and have had no problems.

What is the maximum memory capacity of acer aspire 5600 model

According to the specs of this laptop model, it supports up to 4 GB of DDR2 533/667 MHz memory using two soDIMM modules. This means that you will have to replace the 512 MB memory module already installed in your laptop, & replace it with 2 soDIMM DDR2 533/667 MHz memory modules, each of 2 GB capacity.

I want to upgrade memory of my laptop acer aspire 1691 from 512 to 2gb. Can you tell me which one to buy and how to install them. have you got any manual for acer aspire so that I know where to open and...

it's easy to add memory.
Just open the door on the back of your laptop.
You can see 2 slots of memory.
Make sure that you know the type of your memory for your laptop. I believe is DDR (not DDR2).
