here's my suggestions change the needle-make sure the needle is inserted correctly into the needle holder & also turned the right way make sure when sewing on the machine that the top thread does not come off the thread take up lever check the top thread tension it may be too tight,, usually 4 is good or if the machine has automatic tension set it there make sure it's the right needle for the machine & make sure it's the right needle for the fabric & thread. some thread is knotty ,,, make sure the thread is good quality
Your 9910 is a fantastic machine and offers great value for money. Your tension problems and bobbin problems seems to be related. First remove the two screws on the needle plate and check if your bobbin case sits correctly. It should sit evenly on the rim of the hook-round metal. Turn the hand wheel towards you and the bobbin case should sit perfectly still. If so replace the needle plate and fasten the 2 screws. Next, lift your presser foot and remove all thread from the machine. Re thread your machine with the presser foot still up and the tension dial on "auto". When you get to the point where you are ready to thread the eye of the needle, lower the presser foot and pull down on the thread. You should feel resistance. If not, there may be fluff or other obstruction in the tension disk. If everything is OK, thread the eye of the needle, pick up the bottom thread and sew. Good Luck.
Not sure what brand of machine you have but generally after threading the bobbin the thread should be pulled out through a spring like device and by pulling on this thread and holding the bobbin case loosely in your hand, the bobbin case should turn clockwise inside the case. Clockwise is essential.
Then turn the machine by slowly by hand and let the needle go down and up once. Then pull up the end of the needle thread which should then lift the bobbin thread with it. Pull both through the back of the presser foot and start to sew. I hope.
make sure you have it threaded right and picking up thread at bobbin
