Dell flat screen powers on and off

Works for a couple of min. goes blank and then comes back on and repeats this

Hello,

If you turn the monitor off then about 1020 sec turn it back on and have a picture for five sec again it sound like the power supply in the monitor. but if that did not solve the problem, the picture board on your monitor is bad, since it goes off after few seconds and the power led or button is on, it means the picture board of your monitor has developed fault and will need to be replace.

I advice you replace the picture board on the screen of your monitor to solve the problem of the blank screen.

Screen keeps going blank, have to turn off an the on to get screen back. lasts a couple of mins the goes blank again. Moitor is just over a year old. screen gets slightly brighter before going to black ....
your monitor probably got some bad capacitor.. you will need to open up and replace the faulty component...

Pleasec look through my albums so you will know what to look for.

Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). Dell 17inch flat screen monitor will not remain on, the screen go
If your Dell monitor still under into warranty, better to call Dell technical support and have them replace your monitor coz there is no way you can fix on it.

If the monitor is beyond with the warranty already, better to but a new one than taking it repair that will cost you much.

Tv keeps disconnecting from digital tv, returns within 5 seconds but highly annoying! pictue goes blank and sounds goes aswell , almost like the tv has turned off only to restart itself
It sounds like it is loseing signal, check your connections, and make sure you have the correct cable

My E172fp has a blank screen...when i unplug and plug it back in,the "dell dimension" or whatever that logo is comes on for a second, then the screen goes blank and stays that way.another monitor works...
i have the same issue before with my DELL 2001FP, I replace the 3 capacitor on the board that look like defective because the top is look like swolen, it should be flat. I replace it with the same value and now the it works better.

Blank screen with intermittent operation
you have bad capacitors in the power board inside the monitor replace these and the monitor will work fine

go to control panel>power option>power scheme.
adjust the hard drive to 30 mins and everthing else 20 minutes.
also, go to display and adjust the screen saver to be longer. up to 9999min.

Monitor shuts off but green light stays on

Blank after 2 seconds
This is most probably cause by one or more Faulty Electrolytic Capacitors, I find these are the MOST commonest form of "Fault" in these LCD's TFT's units. I ususally simply replace "On Spec" all High Value Electros, in fact ALL Electro's are suspect and often I just "Shotgun" and replace 'em all. Usually fixes all problems. Always use High Temperature Caps.

The zoom symbol keeps poping up. The zoom symbol pops up where ever the mouse pointer is located. Also when i left clik the mouse, and scroll down the screen zooms in and vice versa when i scroll up. I have tried almost everything. This is very annoying. Is this a virus that I have? And if so, how do i get rid of it. I have a good anti virus system that clean up everthing else.
