Konica 1112 Copy Machine NEEDS TO LIVE a few more years
I have a Konica 1112 photo copy machine. It draws in dirt and requires frequent cleaning. I am having no success with producing a clear copy, it is streaked with black strips on the copy. WHAT CAN I DO?

try to make some copies from your pc if the results is ok that simply means something with your scanner unit, for exaple the pnnel needs to be lubricated and the ccd unit needs to be cleaned.
"Dirty" could be one of 3 things... Transfer belt, Imaging unit and fuser unit. Make 5 copies in jam the machine by opening a cover. remove pages and see where the "dirt" originates from.
When is the last time a full PM was done. with the counter properly cleared and require procedures where done after the developer and drum are replaced, did you clear the counters for the new drum?? Replacing the heater (FUSER/FIXER is not the problem) A good cleaning in and around the Photo drum and developer section with the developer replaced and counters properly check and so get a qualified Konica Minolta Tech out to look at the machine. My recommendation
Hi, platen glass means that you need to clean the copy glass - glass where you put the originals for copying. If you have an auto document cleaner there is also small glass on left side of "platen glass" wich is seen when you open the copy machine cover or dadf.
The black line is probably from dirt on copy glass, I pressume because courectour liquid ( most common ). use some stronger detergent or wd-40 to disolve the dirt and clean with glass detergent and dry it.
If you still have the black line try to print something from machine. If you do not have it on print its the copy glass problem - clean it - again.
Depends on what you want to do with the copier. This a graphic's machine if you require high quality photo type output this is a perfect machine. It's not fast and will not run heavy stocks. It performs best with Hammermill color laser paper. If optioned with the Fiery Print Controller it will produce great print from photoshop and other graphics programs.
The CLC-1180 is Service intensive and will require frequent service calls and I highly recommend you have a service contract.
If you just require general office color such as Powerpoint , Word and don't require photo quality output, I would recommend the ImageRunner C-3200, ImageRunner C-3380 or ImageRunner 5180. These machines require less service and cost less per copy to operate.
This machine sounds like it needs a service. Is the paper dirty before it reaches the fuser unit? You can check this by opening the door while the machine is printing (if you're quick), if the dirt is on the copy before it is fused to the paper then the origin of the dirt is in the process area - clean the area particularly check the cleaning assembly and clean the transport bed (the assembly that pulls out with a green handle been turned to the left). If it is after fusing then your fuser roller and/or cleaning web (roller) is worn and/or dirty. Some techs wind back the cleaning web to buy more time - good luck
This is a common problem with the majic colors. There is a solenoid inside the machine that needs to be replaced. Not an easy job. This should be done by a tech.
Thanks, I have already removed glass, cleaned all mirrors, and also the photo eye. Last week one of the motors went out so it is TOAST!
Thanks anyway.
Check cassette light keeps coming on, and stops the unit. What is it, where is it and what should I do?
Thanks
