LG L4200A 42 in. HD-Ready LCD Television Logo
Posted on Mar 03, 2010

Model is the LG LDC 47" -problem, tv has to be turned on & off for about 20 minutes before it stays on. Like it has to warm up? TV is a year old & has just started to do this. Once on it works fine. What would cause this delay in turning on TV?

Whenever I turn the tv on it stays on for 10-15 seconds and then it turns off, a flashing red light also appears on the bottom right of the monitor. What is the issue?

Hi, That sounds like an issue with the board in the tv, can't say I've seen it happen with that model yet but I have with last years models. If it's too late to return it to the store where you bought it I'd suggest seeing if they'd exchange it for you if not talk to LG.

LG Plasma TV automatic turn off right after turn on

You have some dried out capacitors on the power supply. Samsung has a major issue with this right now and I made a tutorial for that repair in my Tips & Tricks. Your capacitors will not be the same, but identifying them and replacing them will be. Best advise I can give you: Stop using the TV and unplug it until you get it fixed. When these caps go bad, they draw down the voltage they are filtering. I've seen some TVs that had secondary damage because of this. I hope this was of some assistance, best wishes.

I have a LG rear projection 64 Inch TV and the other night it made a POP noise, and then the screen went black, so i quickly got up and turned it off for a few minutes, then back on again and it didnt...

Hey, its always better to give your model number from the back of the tv to get more relevant answer. However, it appears that you have a DLP TV and its TV Lamp has gone bad. For Sacramento area check on www.fixurtvs.com for more answers and repair cost estimates. The bulb gets worn out in 2 to three years and at times operates intermitted for few minutes to some hours. So if you have a DLP TV and its more than 2 years old, change the Lamp. Its easy and most people can do it as described in the owner's manual.
