Hold in the 2, 9, and HOLD keys while turning the scanner power ON. After about 3 seconds you'll see the word CLEAR, indicating that the reset is complete.
NOTE: This procedure will clear/erase all the information that you have programmed into the scanner.

I have a model BC92XLT and want to reset it to factory original settings. How do I do this? Thanks so much, Joni

Turn radio off ... while holding down 2, 9 and HOLD keys, turn it back on by holding down the power button. Yes, it is awkward ...
Takes about 3 seconds, scanner will tell you it is CLEAR.

Uniden scanner says pch loc out and will not scan

You didn't mention what the scanner is doing when that display pops up, but here are two possible fixes.

With the scanner powered ON,
- Press HOLD to stop scanning
- Press FUNC
- Press and hold L/O until the scanner beeps twice.
This will clear all locked out channels.

For a COMPLETE reset,
- Turn the scanner power OFF
- Turn the scanner power ON while pressing and holding the 2, 9, and HOLD keys
- After about 3 seconds the display will show CLEAr.
CAUTION: the above will clear/erase all information that you have programmed into the scanner, including frequencies, and reset the scanner to the original factory settings.

I hope this info helps.

Cellular frequency restoration

hi
the 92xlt (and 72xlt) are models that only have the range installed and no other freqs are available (by mod or software)
there are many other models out there that do a wider range of freqs
often older models have less restrictions
