How do I program a button to use a headset

I've recently received a Jabra headset for use with a NEC DTU 32D 1A phone.
What I would like to know is how do I program a button to use the headset? I've plugged it into the headset jack on the base of the phone.
I've read that it's in memory block 4-12 of system programming but how do I get to system programming?

Can NEC DTU-16D-1A be used with a standard PSTN line in?

Yes, the NEC DTU-16D-1A can be used with a standard PSTN line. You will need to program the phone system to recognize the PSTN line instead of the ISDN2 line. Here are some steps you can take:
  1. Access the programming mode on the NEC Xen Alpha system by pressing "Speaker" and then "7" on the main phone.
  2. Enter the system password, which should be provided in the user manual or by your system administrator.
  3. Press "Speaker" and then "3" to enter the line programming mode.
  4. Scroll through the line options using the arrow keys until you find the option for PSTN. Select this option.
  5. Save your changes by pressing "Speaker" and then "Store".
Once you have completed these steps, your NEC DTU-16D-1A handsets should be able to connect to the PSTN line and function properly.

How to conference call on a nec dtu 32d 1a phone?

When your're on a call, you press Conference, get internal dial tone, dial the extension you want or 9 plus the whole outside number you want, then press Conference again to tie the calls together. Some exts only have access to one call at a time, so if you can't make 2 calls at a time, this feature won't work.

I need to program a HeadSet Button

For the DTU phone on an NEC Elite system:
Memory Block 4-12
put in the port number and the Lkey of the extension you want to make a headset key.
Programmin on a 16button phone, Lkey 11 needs to be lit and will display H SET to verify.

For the DTP phone, it is generally on an NEC 2000, which is entirely different.
