Konica Minolta DiMAGE Z6 Digital Camera Logo

My minolta dimage X20 whern turned on is all ready to take a picture but is only showin blackness, i can preview pictures etc and do every thing else My Minolta DiMAGE X20 is doing the same thing and has been for a year. I've just been too lazy to go buy a new one. When I turn it on the screen is completely black, but sometimes when you point it at the light it will get a couple white streaks across it. When you take a picture this is the only image that comes up. When in playback mode, I can still see all pictures I had taken previously, and the menu still works fine. (This had happened before, but stopped for a couple of weeks when I turned it on, but then happened again) I have a problem with my DiMAGE Z6, when I turned it On, the display will be fine and can take few pictures and later on it will display a black circular form on the sides most especially when it becomes something like warm or hot. What probably is problem with my camera? Can this be fixed? If so, can you recommend a service center in the Philippines especially in Mindanao or Cebu? I would appreciate your assistance with my camera problem. My email address is [email protected]. Thank you, Raul Estrada

I am also getting that semi-circle of darkness in the top right corner which I've notice is only there when I zoom out, but not when I zoom in completely. I'm no Columbo, but I think this is a problem with the zoom lens. I can actually touch the care of the camera which is showing as the dark crescent shape.

Thats called "vigneting" and is caused by misalignment of the lens.... has it been dropped or mishandled? if so, it needs re calibrating and setting up by a pro camera technician.

Hi, I'm Jimmy go. Just would like to confirm to what extent the warranty of Dimage X20 is, because I just had my Dimge X20 repaird /replaced however, the Sony Service center in our area which is Cebu City Philippines, charged me with labor cost. Is this legal? As I understand in they had installed a defective part and that they are willing to replace it at no cost at all to the user/buyer. Is this true... please confirm

Check out the manual it needs a little setting up I guess. There should be a more comprehensive manual on the CD in PDF format.

Lcd black, but can hear the picture being taken

This is part of a known problem with the SONY image sensors that operate the lcd. There is in fact a recall that will replace the bad componets. You need to contact SONY for repairs. Check out this website to learn more about your problem. http://www.imaging-resource.com/badccds.html

No picture

The camera does not require a new CCD. This problem is most likely due to a stuck or malfunctioning shutter mechanism in the lens. Normally the camera will open the shutter to allow you to see the image so you can compose, and then when you take the picture it will close the shutter momentarily and record what the CCD saw at that moment. If the shutter does not open in the first place - all you see is black. If this is in fact your issue the camera will need to be repaired. David Millier Advance Camera Repair
