Turn on in safe mode. go to device manager look for processor and disable them that will fis your problem. let me know
If this didn't help the other poster it sure worked on my Toshiba A306-s6872! After cleaning the fan and applying new thermal paste the puter still shut down. I tried everything, but this answer because I was not sure what I was doing. The computer has been up and running with no shut down. I have even been able to wake it up. Plus has not shutdown while posting! Thanks for the suggetion!

I'm having the same issue when I attempt to run it in safe mode it blue screens and restarts.
Several reasons are causing this,low memory or too many programs.If that is not the case here,we have to look at viruses,backdoor trojans and spyware.
I recommend run anti virus software in safe mode.
Conflicts on a hard drive or it is overheating.Because you are not able to access it can mimic the same issues.Try to do disk cleaner and disk defrag in safe mode too.
