Question about Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-T1 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Hello, I've had a DSC-T1 camera since 2005 and it's worked great, but now every time I charge it the battery doesn't charge and the camera overheats (to the point where touching it burns your fingers). Have you experienced this before?

I suspect the battery is defective and if it is overheating it may have damaged your built in charger in the camera. That could present a fire hazard. I would first try a new battery.

Battery Charge

Get another battery and try charging it. You should have a second, backup battery anyway. That should narrow it down between the charger and the battery as to which is defective. How old is the camera? It may be a better investment to put the money into a new camera. Also, look on EBay for a new charger if you find that it is the problem. There are many third-party manufacturers of chargers and batteries that work fine and cost much less.
