LG RU-44SZ51D 44 in Lamp replaced 1/21/08 but Lamp time not reset
I took my TV in for this problem: Turn looks great for 1 minute then powers off. The "authorized" LG repair shop I took it to replaced the lamp but didn't reset the Lamp Timer - now 4 weeks later I have the same issue. Can not resetting the Lamp Timer cause this issue? Thank you

push the MUTE button on your remote control at the same time as pushing the OKbutton on your tv set . Hold for at least 10 - 15 seconds . You should now see a page on your screen that will tell u total lamp hours
Could be your Ballast Board that fires up lamp or Fan is bad that cools Lamp there is also a Fan mounted up under Light Engine if it stops running set will not come on. CK Fan Behind lamp first if it is OK then replace Ballast Go to E-Bay for Best Deal on that part .
So far I have entered the service menu (both menus together) then selected Lamp Replace (option 14) and then pres ok to reset. Version and Lamp (option 11) now reads Lamp life (Khr) = 8 and Lamp use (Hr) = 0.
To do this, press the ENTER button on the TV and the MUTE button on the remote at the same time. After 5 seconds the screen should come up and it will read "Lamp use time...Total lamp use time ....lamp reset" Press the center button on your remote (the circle button right in the middle of the four directional buttons) and you will be reset to -0- again. Your orange light should now be off.
