This is discussed on page 26 of manual. Press and hold MENU and select USER for EQ. Under EQ you will have options to adjust SUB BASS, BASS, MID BASS, ULTRA HIGH, HIGH, MID HIGH, AND MID
Bose 901 speakers are designed to use with the Bose equaliser patched between the pre-amplifier out and power-amplifier in of your receiver. Having said that, Bose did not invent EQ, neither is EQ a mystical process. Not sure which series 901s you are talking about, but I would definitely be experimenting with the built-in EQ supplied with your Sony DA5800 ES. The manual says you have +/- 10 dB of adjustment for treble and bass for each of the surround channels. That is not really adequate in my opinion, not only would I be seeking +/- 15 dB, but I would also like to be able to apply those adjustments at frequencies chosen by me, not just 'treble' and 'bass' To use the Bose EQ, it needs to be patched between a preamp output and power amp input. The Sony DA5800 ES has preamp outputs, so you could use these (Note that the built-in EQ is disabled when using these outputs) In this case you could either feed the signals back into the Sony (post Bose EQ) perhaps using a different 'Zone'. As an alternative option, you could power your 901's with a stand-alone two channel power amplifier. Then you get the full benefit of the Bose EQ as well as the surround sound from your Sony (front L+R speakers off) It all sounds like a lot of fun. Happy listening! Cheers, Don.
Do you have an amp? Remote wire might have come loose and the amp is telling the speakers to stop playing. Or, you might just have a setting problem, like it\'s turned on to just the rear and the rear is set to sub. Try dinking with the settings and running flat eq....(+/- 0 on bass treb and mid). If not, then there is a master plug in the back of the system: unplug and plug back in. If none of this works, trace the speaker wires back and make sure they are connected and not melting somewhere hot.
my initial reply was...On the function button you may need to depress it for 3 seconds to activate base, treble, balance etc But
then I found this, "Rotary Volume Control: The CD receiver uses a 7-way rotary volume control that increases and decreases the volume of the stereo from 0 to 35. The rotary knob also controls other audio settings such as Balance, Fader, Bass, Mid, Treble and preset EQ settings. In addition, the rotary knob allows you to scroll through and select your music tracks when the Music Search function is activated. Cheers, this should help ya.
punk and metal tones (late 80s): treb-7 mid-6-7 bass 6-8, presence 6-10, gain/distortion all the way up. classic rock just turn down the gain/distortion to 6-7. bridge pickup
metal mid 90s & up: treb 6-7, mids 3-5, bass 7-9, gain all the way up, presence (which is a mid and treble boost) 4-6. bridge pickup
blues SRV: treb 6, mid 6, bass 7.5, presence 8, gain 5, reverb (if you got it). use your neck pick up
of course this is subjective and depends on the guitar, cable quality, etc. it looks like a small speaker with a low watt output. that little speaker in there is going to be hard to articulate any tones. more than likely it will have a harsh bit to it cause the value of the pots and the logarythm you hear. reduce treble as needed to smooth out the harsh, keep the mids up.
Hello, i have a hifonics brutus also, in the manual it states to set the eq at half way, so that there is no clipping or at least to prevent clipping , the eq will make the bass punchier, if you do go pass half way, i would recommend to readjust your gain settings, also check your head unit settings and make sure everything is flat, bass, mid bass etc. example i had my eq past half but i had my gain at mid way, it was hitting hard, then i tried turning the eq all the way down and the turning up the gain and the bass was smoother so it depends where you set it, and what settings you have on your head unit tone control (bass, treble etc)
press the EQ button until it says custom on the seting then press the tuner select button left or right and it will say bass or treble use the volume to turn it up or down then u got the bass control.:)
