I have canon laser shot lbp 1120. i have download the drivers for windows 7 and it still wont setup the printer. i have download the drivers no. of times and clicked on all the files. i have also tried open application in older version on windows 7 and it still wont work.

I just recently fixed the problem for my LBP-1120, so I thought I'd share to make life a little eaier (in case you are still experiencing the same problem).
Step 1: Uninstall any previous attempts to give you a clean slate to work with.
Step 2: Go to http://driverscollection.com/?H=LBP-1120&By=Canon
You want to download the CAPT Driver R1.10 V1.10
(It's 1.61Mb)

Add the little cypher code, and click download.
Step 3: Run the file, it will extract to the same folder.
Step 4: Simply Start> Devices & Printers > Add Printer
Add Local Printer (I'm assuming USB001)
Have disk > Browse (Go to folder)
Alternatively, if your current Printer list shows "Canon Capt Printer" already, right click, go to Properties and try Updating the driver by using the folder/files you downloaded.

Unplug the printer from the computer. Uninstall the printer from both the control panel and from programs under "add or remove programs" if it is listed. Reboot. go to control panel, device manager, USB controllers. Click on the + by USB controllers. look for Printing support. Right click and delete. Reboot computer again. Go to http://software.canon-europe.com/products/0000524.asp and download the software for your OS and printer. FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS CONTAINED IS THE PDF FILE THAT COMES WITH THE DRIVER. You should be good to go.
tried all that. Still not working. It will not start up the dialogue window to browse for driver files. If I try the route of Updating driver from the "CAPT printer" icon Properties. It finds the folder recently downloaded and unpacked but it does not find the driver files! Arrgh!
I have the same problem. It's like the driver files are incomplete or somethin but it won't install properly :( Very strange. Any suggestions as to where to get a good set of drivers. Not even the ones from the Canon website seem to work right.

Defaul install will use LBT port, so that you must choose USB port for LBP 1120.
I can't uninstall the old driver . it freezes and says not responding . Help?
I had the same problem.. i tried all the above and after several times of failing this is what worked for me
1- disconnect the printer
2- uninstall the driver from (control panel>uninstall program) &restart
connect the printer
3- on the printer list right click on (canon capt printer)>properties
under the hardware tab .. right click on the printer name > properties
4- Click (Update Driver) and browse from the folder downloaded (http://driverscollection.com/?file_cid=4185122914590a75abbdee86fed)
