I have a Misubishi WS73513 rear projection TV - when I turn it on it will only stay on for about 5 minutes and turn itself off - the green light remains on. I can turn it back off and on again and get another 5 minutes of viewing time before it repeats the cycle. I was told by its previous owner the MD board may need to be replaced. Are the two items related? How can I tell if the MD board needs to be replaced?

SOURCE: Projection TV keeps shutting down

I just took my Mitsubishi WS-65315 65" in to be repaired for the same problem and was told that it needed a new main circuit board part number 930b899005 as was told they wanted to charge me $1100.00. So I told them not to do the repair and picked up my tv and found that same part at Sears parts for only $225.00. Some of these TV repair places are theifs.

SOURCE: Flashing Green Light on Front of 73" Projection TV

on the signal board replace the caps by the 5/9 volt regulators. c2p04 is the main culprit. 6 caps in total can be changed. I believe c2p05 also.

SOURCE: TV screen goes blank but power stays on

Sounds like the CRTs are going into protective blanking due to the vertical output ic needing to be resolderd. Try resoldering the vertical IC that may possibly fix the issue.

SOURCE: Projection TV keeps shutting down

Good Day;

Sounds like you have a bad green picture tube that has failed. To check this out; remove front speaker grill, remove small panel, you will see three CRT's (pictue tubes) sticking down, remove the little board on the middle tube then restore power. If TV stays on more then likely the CRT is bad but not always the driver on board could also be bad, check voltages.

Good Luck, big IRISH.

Have a misubishi ws55859 green light blinks will not turn on it all started when the tv was unpluged

The dm board power circuit has gone bad and would require many capacitors to be changed. This board is a box (metal grey) on the left extreme as viewed from rear next to input connector board. It is not recommended as an abinitio DIY Project. Caps faults are difficult to find and require an ESR meter. Call for professional help and should cost 180 to 220. Check it out at www.fixurtvs.com for more questions and price quotes.
