Check the tube that leads down to the brush head for clogging as well as any motor or HEPA filters. If that still shows nothing, take the cover off the brush head (like you're changing the belt) and look for obstructions in there. Usually, if you have low suction on the accessory hose, the problem is with a motor filter, HEPA filter, or a clog where the hose goes into the unit. If you have good suction on the accessory hose but none on the floor, it's usually in the brush head (clog or broken belt) Good luck

I usually straighten out a wire coat hanger and bend a small hook on one end to pull the debris out. be careful, though, that you don't puncture the hose. By the way, if pappajim6 can see this, the belt probably broke on yours.

What is wrong when a kenmore vacuum cleaner 360 brush roller will not turn but the motor is fine? There are no strings caught.

there IS a clog between the brush head and the accessory tubre, but I can't figure out how to get in there and clear it. I can feel it with my fingers, but it is packed tight and I can't get a tool into it.

Kenmore progressive direct drive beltless vacuum has some suction but not like it used too

Loss of suction usually caused by a blockage or partial blockage.

Whether bagged or bagless there are usually filters to be cleaned or replaced regularly and it is surprising how often a hose or scoop or internal trunking can become blocked, often needing the cleaner to be at least partially dismantled and parts rodded through.

I have a kenmore progressive upright vacuum can't find the reset

I would try turning the brush by hand to see if there is any resistance. I'm not aware of a "reset" switch that is end user accessible. If the vacuum still has suction, make sure you are using it on a carpet. The brush doesn't turn on wood or vinyl flooring.

I have a Kenmore Progressive Inteleclean Upright vacuum cleaner (with Bag) . It has good suction only through the hose now and none through the bottom for cleaning carpets. and, there is a noise like it...

Theres a little bendable neck that hose with suction plugs into. Thats the one thats clogged. You will have to fish it out by taking off the roller and clearing the clog.

Loud noise from Kenmore Progressive Bagless Inteli-Clean

Here is a possible solution. If the vacuum sounds normal when the green light comes on, then the issue is a suction bypass. Kenmore built a suction bypass in to help cool down and protect the motor should someone either never clean the filter, empty the canister or somehow manage to clog the hose. There is a spring holding the bypass closed and is overridden by vacuum suction. I guess the spring becomes weak, allowing high suction to pull it open which in turn reduces suction so it closes again. It can do this several times per second making a loud racket and slightly affecting performance until the sensor goes green, then the vacuum suction is too low to overcome the spring tension thus why it sounds fine then. The trick? The very hard way (what I did) was to open the vacuum, open the casing where the spring is and pull it apart slightly to increase the spring tension. The easy way is to put tape over the hole where the bypass is. The inlet is under the hose track on the back on the right side as you're looking at it. The hole is about the size of a quarter and you'll see fins across the hole. The tape would keep the suction. The motor would still pull back the bypass but since tape is applied, there would be nothing to reduce the suction thus keeping performance and reducing the noise. However, this circumvents the intended design so you do so only at your own risk.

Kenmore progressive/direct drive-- roller stopped turning

We have the same vacuum & had the same problem. As the vacuum ages & the hose is periodically removed from the nozzle to use with the attachments, the white switch, adjacent to the nozzle connection, wears. If the hose is not fully reinserted or if the attachment notches are inadvertently aligned with the white stitch, the agitator may not work reliably. Assuring the hose is fully inserted, with the locking notches away from the switch has eliminated this problem with our vacuum cleaner.

Getting suction to use attachments

When the vacuum is in the upright position, it should give you suction thru the hose.
