Get onlineand got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "ToshibaSupport" (without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support). Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operatingsystem when requested. Look for Manuals and search them for Bios Password or Bios Password Reset. I searched and Toshiba did not have any manuals or drivers for this model. Must be really old. Anyway try the link below for removing the bios password. http://www.ehow.com/how_6795884_reset-toshiba-tecra-bios-password.html You could try removing the cmos battery.
You will have to remove the power cord, remove the batteryand remove the CMOS Battery that is located on the motherboard. On mostcomputers you will have to take the laptop apart to get to the cmosbattery. On some systems it looks like a silver nickel that you will needa small flat head screw driver to pop it out. On other systems it will beinside a vinyl covering and has a cable that plugs into the motherboard. Once you remove the CMOS Battery, let it sit for an hour or two then put itback in and put the laptop back together. Boot the machine and you'llprobably have to go into the Bios or System Setup because the system will haveforgotten the date, time and password.
Most Toshiba laptops and some desktop systems will bypass the BIOS passwordif the left shift key is held down during boot....( please give rating for me)
To reset the BIOS password read the information from this link.
In case of your Toshiba laptop the easiest method would be using software from Hiren's Boot CD as it's pretty hard to open it up and reach for the CMOS battery or the jumper.
The BIOS password is removed by the BIOS configuration, you need the BIOS password to get into the BIOS configuration. But if you do not have the BIOS password then you need to construct this dongle device. TOSHIBA BIOS PASSWORD DONGLE You can build a dongle that plugs into the printer port.Purchase a 25 pin male D sub connector and solder insulated wires to the various pins as listed below. The pins are numbered on the connector http://www.tilman.de/sonstiges/toshiba/dongle1.jpg this is a picture of the finished dongle
Wire the pins as follows :-1-5-10, 2-11, 3-17, 4-12, 6-16, 7-13, 8-14, 9-15 Plug the finished dongle in the printer port and power up the laptop. The password will be reset, go into the BIOS configuration to check the BIOS password, you may have to disable the BIOS password.
