A second HDD doesn't work.

I bought an additional 1Tb hard drive for my computer. For the first two days it worked fine, but then the computer refused to boot, it didn't even go to BIOS, just a black screen when starting the computer. The HDD works fine on other computers, and I get past the problem by clearing CMOS memory by moving the mobo jumper cap from pins 1&2 to pins 2&3 and then back before starting the computer, but I can't restart the computer or it won't boot again. So I've narrowed it down to probably being a problem with the mobo. I've tried using different SATA ports, different power ports, different cables, running with just the new HDD, all with the same results, black screen. The computer boots fine when the second hard drive isn't plugged in. The HDD doesn't show in boot order list, and HDD jumper doesn't have to be set for Vista. The HDD is a Western Digital Caviar Green 1Tb, motherboard is Asus P5Q SE and OS is Windows Vista 32-bit.

I have an LG HR945T dvd hard drive which starts up and works ok but after 20 seconds it just turns off. Started doing it out of the blue one day.Any ideas or is it stuffed.

Could be a faulty hdd not initializing. Try a new hdd.
500gb is really cheap to buy, you may cosider an upgrade to 1tb perhaps.

Sir, Im having P4BP-MX Motherboard 2GB DDR 40 GB HDD, CAN I GO FOR 1TB HDD for my Motherboard. I bought 1TB its not identifying Is my P4BP-MX Motherboard support 1TB or Not ?

There's two things wrong:

1. You can't simply install a hard drive and then use it. You have to format it and/or install an operating system on it.

2. Your motherboard is a very old model. While it is new enough to support LBA48 mode (which is necessary to fully use hard drives above 127 GB), it is possible that it has an old BIOS version that does not support it. You should check ASUS' website to download and install the latest BIOS update.

Hp hdd no show computer

Is this an external 1TB Hard Drive? Maybe it's to big for your computer. If it's an external drive try it on another computer and see if it works. There is also the possibility that the external 1TB drive is bad.

If it's not an external hard drive then try the steps below.

Click Start/My Computer and see if your hard drive is listed as a device. If not, turn the computer off, remove the battery, remove the cover that houses the hard drive on the bottom of the laptop then remove the hard drive from the bay. Wait 30 seconds and put the hard drive back into the bay and reboot. Now see if the hard drive is shown under My Computer. If not, the drive might be bad.

Hi, Brand : Imation Model : Apollo M250 Capacity

Hi, The hard drive Apollo M250 does not have any locking mechanism. It only has backup software. If your computer does not detect the HDD, it only means that the HDD is already broken.

My Cavalry 1TB hard drive stopped working the 3rd day after i bought it. It powers on, you can hear it working, but the computer won't recognize it. I can't initialize it through Diskpart or Disk...

The HDD is probably in working condition, however the enclosure may be damaged. You can remove the hdd inside the cavalry storage enclosure, and if you have a desktop install it in the desktop to get your data off of it. You may instead wish to purchase a new hdd enclosure which can be bought online from many websites such as http://ncix.com or newegg.com

1. Did the device Support Before?
2. Have you checked if the Device Works on a computer, if the device works fine, then i am afraid, you TV does not support the External HDD. This could be Software or Hardware.
