I played a gig last night..someone spilled beer on the stool where I had my phone. The external display flashed through some call screens, and is now not responsive to touch at all. The inside works fine. The battery had little charge on it and hut the phone off about the same time this happened.

I wash once a laptop keyboard after someone spilled beer on it. Try to unmount keyboard and wash it with water and soap. It works for me. Let keyboard to naturally dry one day.
This is most likely to happen not when something is spilled upon it but when something hard happens to hit the screen or it is pressed against something hard for a while. This is bound to cause a malfunction in the internal screen which is touch sensitive and responds to your touches. If this is the case, you must see a repairer quickly before it becomes worse. As for the price, that depends on the repairer and your area. But generally, it is not very expensive to replace the screen. Hope this helped?
If: the computer turn on, keyboard lights turn on, then screen goes black, then keyboard doesn't work, then unfortunately, I'm 99% sure the beer short-circuited the motherboard, which is an expensive fix and can range anywhere from $30 - $80 for a new one (plus the money for a techie expert to install this all for you). Sorry man, it happened to my laptop too :(
my phone feel in beer.... i dried it by the fan over night and was working fine for about four days. On the fourth day the touch screen didn't work, but all my buttons work. I can pick up phone calls, call the last person I talked to, and it also charges.
Is there any way to fix my touch screen???
You might be able to do it yourself, though in the worst case there are companies that replace motherboards for about $150. The problem you are experiencing may be a display inverter problem, the easiest way to test this is to connect the laptop to an external monitor using the VGA port (usually blue). If it displays what you would expect, then it is most likely not the motherboard. New LCDs for most laptops are also in the $150 to $200 range, and are fairly easy to replace on some models of laptops. Inverters are less than the LCD in most cases. I would not recommend doing the replacement yourself if you are not intimately familiar with the inner workings of notebook computers.
there is a small very delicate ribbon cable that connects the screen to the circuit board that has probally broken. it is a common problem on phones that flip like yours does.
same problem, broke my screen, ordered a new screen off ebay and replaced it. now it works fine most of the time but sometimes external display freezes. sometimes goes black, sometimes goes multicolor pixelated (full screen, in blocks, or lines) when this happens sometimes touchpad still works, others not. removing battery usualy temporarily fixes.
take out the battery and gently squeeze the phone together, apply some pressure to the back area of the phone under the battery, I applied pressure with my thumbs slowly and moved around the entire battery compartment. I suspect the connector is loose to the display that connects some place behind the battery. It seems to have fixed my phone the display came back full brightness so far!! Good luck
Thanks. It's my job.
