LG Flatron L1750S 17" LCD Monitor Logo
Anonymous Posted on Feb 28, 2010

When I turn my computer on the monitor stays off. I press the monitor's power button and the orange light above it goes off, obviously turning it off. I press it again and the light turns blue, the words "Analog Power Saving Mode" coming up on the screen. A few seconds after, the screen goes black and the light turns orange again.

Or just plug the video lead into the onboard connection (vga) if that doesnt work try hitting f1 when your pc is loading as sometimes the bios may be set to run in pci (graphics card) but will tell you at startup to press f1 to continue but you wont be able to see that message as its still in vga mode at this point ? i hope you understand me sorry lol, on my pc i hit f1 after 1 minute of loading to allow the computer time to get to the loading screen (which we cant see) then i know that when i press F1 the screen pops into life after about 15 seconds try it

The monitor is not getting any video information from your computer .. check the connection at the computer to make sure it is fully plugged in .. make sure the video card (if it has one) is securely in place ... make sure the monitor is actually plugged into the right connector .. you may have a bad video card or a damaged cable to your monitor .. you can plug the monitor into another computer to make sure its ok ..

SOURCE: Analog Power Saving Mode

Firstly check the connecting cable from the screen to the computer at both ends. Ensure that the thumbscrews that keep the connector in place are tight. Has the PC been moved recently? Any chance the cable could have been put in the wrong place? You can get the installation manual on the following link to see where that cables should go: http://us.lge.com/filedown.do?filepath=1000000757&fileName=L1750B-BF.pdf Try resetting the monitor by pressing the "Auto/SET" button on the front panel for a few seconds with the PC on. If that fails you can do a full factory reset on the monitor by using the on screen menu and navigation to the "reset" function on the setings (gearwheel) page. This is described in the manual page A12. If all this fails then disconnect the cable to the monitor, the monitor should display "no input signal" if it does suspect the PC graphics card is faulty.

The monitor will not turn on. When power button

First--was it working?
Did it suddenly stop?
When you see the LG logo, then it goes away, does the power light turn from green to amber? Sounds like that doesn't happen.
So--if you are getting a signal, you should see something.
If there is no signal, then the power light should change from green to orange.
With no lights at all, I suspect a faulty monitor.

Monitor will not stay on

Generally Monitors have a single light in fron pannel, with dual mode colors as Green and Orange.

Green: Everything is OK .
Orange: Everything is OK, except it is not getting
any signals from computer or other source.

Try with any other monitor with your CPU, it may happen that CPU actually not providing any signal to Monitor. Try checking the "NUM LOCK" button on and off, whether it makes the light on keyboard to flash on or off.
If NUM LOCK is woking OK, there is surely some problme with your monitor and you need to get is checked physically with an engineer.

Viewsonic VG700b bug

The light turning to orange means the monitor is not getting a signal from the computer. Check your monitor cable at both ends and make sure it is in very tight and secure at the computer end as well. Also check to see if the computer stays on when the light goes to orange on the monitor. The power cord for the computer might be loose.

Monitor goes blank less than a second after turning on.

Beautiful screen, lasts about for a few minutes, goes black. Power button still green. If I turn it off, and then back on, it works again for a while. Any ideas?

Monitor lives its own life ;) Turnes off and on in random moments

It sounds like there's a problem in the power supply or inverter section and it's just teetering on the edge of failure. The disruption of the signal is apparently just enough to kick it over the cliff until it's reset. Sooner or later, it'll need some help, like connections, capacitors, output transistors, capacitors, transformers. Those are the most common failures in these. I think you'll see it get worse
