If it is showing the Receive symbol all the time but does not receive the radio has a fault in the receiver. Can be repaired, price as per XTR446

Rx is an abbreviation for receive. (Tx is transmit) There are a variety of reasons a radio will be "stuck" in Rx:
1) Another radio in the group is stuck in transmit and you cannot reply if your radio is receiving the other radios transmission.
2) Your radio is programmed for Rx only.
3) Your radio has a Tx problem such as a bad mic, or something covering the mic opening.
4) Your battery is low or bad. It takes more energy to Tx than to Rx.

Radios that are in "protected" mode often indicate a short in a speaker wire or a really bad speaker. Disconnect all eight speaker wires: white, white/black, gray, gray/black, green, green-black, violet, and violet/black. Turn on the radio and see if it still shows "protected". If it does, the radio is defective. If not, connect each pair of speakers back one at a time and see if it goes into protected mode. The one that causes it is the bad wire/speaker.

It's a Uniden model 3040 CK, is this correct, if so then the problem is due to someone or something causing a carrier frequency to be received by your unit, causing the Rx to stay open, the fact you can Tx and Rx the other station you're communicating with, indicates that the radio is working as it should, the problem is caused by external interference and not in your radio.

What this code indicate mean that your radio have have been compress with power however the can also be an indication of lower power supply but most of the time is always power compress.

What you need to do to solve this code problem is to put off the radio for some time allow it relax, then remove the battery if possible after some time replace it if you are able to remove the battery then put on the radio and operate it.
