I can not get a new memory card to format. When

I can not get a new memory card to format. When you follow the instructions per the book, the screen will show no memory available?? Whats up?

That is a really old camera. Is it a new card? The camera may not support the size of the new card. Being released in 2002, I doubt it will handle 2GB cards.

Check and make sure the ard you are putting in does not have the write protect on.
