Hi koppeling There is no direct solution since Agfa doesn't support your driver anymore after XP . Install a virtual version of XP on your PC with FREE WmwarePlayer : http://download.cnet.com/VMware-Player/3000-2094_4-10470784.html or via Microsoft if you are using Ultimate or Professional . Otherwise , you 'll need to replace your device by a W7 compatible one . best regards , fanaudi .
Agfa haven't updated Windows 7 drivers for SnapScan E40, but you can still install it in Compatibility Mode using the Windows XP driver. First of all, download the Windows XP driver from HERE. After that, perform the steps given HERE.
Let me know if you need further help.
Good Luck.
Thanks for using FixYa.
What o/s are you using ? - I have a driver downloaded from Agfa that worked OK with XP & previous programmes. If you are unable to sort it out please repost & I'll try to find it & send as an E-Mail attachment
Ony by downloading the revised driver from Agfa,
Going on past experience when the great move from 98[DOS] to XP[NTFS] happened it can be a fraught experience and very often a new scanner in this Case VISTA compatible could be the answer.
The VueScan program will work, but you have to go into device manager (Right-click "My computer" choose "Manage" select "Device Manager")
In device manager, you will probably see the scanner detected with a yellow triangle. Right-click the scanner and choose "Upgrade Driver" then choose "browse my computer for updated driver" and browse the the "VueScan" folder on your C drive.
Once you do that Vista will update to the VueScan Driver and you'll be ready to go (once you pay the nice folks at VueScan so that your scans don't have watermarks on them)
