Cell won't charge

Last night out of the blue, my phone would not charge. I took it into the local ATT store and they said there is nothing they can do and offered to sell me a new phone at full cost. There is no connection between the charger and my phone. They tested my charger and battery and both are fine. It seems like this is a common problem from searching the internet. i had the same problem, at&t sent me a replacement phone and the same thing happened 6 months later to the new (it was actually refurbished being that this model is discontinued) phone. I have been unable to charge my phone for the past month, it isn't under warranty.
