hi,,check if the sd card is inserted in the right way.. if its in a right way then probably the sd is faulty. better to try a different sd in your phone.
Try using another SD card to see if that one will read. If so, there is a problem with your SD card. But if that card is also unable to be read, and your phone is fully updated, there is a problem with the reader on your HTC handset. You can contact HTC for a repair or a replacement. You might even have some luck at the retailer where you originally bought your phone. It's a fairly new model.
Here's HTC's number:
866-449-8358 6am-1am Eastern Time
Check if your micro sd card is properly inserted in your htc phone.Go to the pc connections in your phone and set them to mass storage mode to access your sd card.
Take out the SD card.Turn off the phone and take out the battery. Now insert the new SD card and then insert the battery. Turn it on and then new card should get detected.
Try cleaning the pins of SC Card with contact cleaner or alcohol if you prefer make sure its dry enough before inserting. If nothing happens try detecting it on PC Desktop with proper Card reader, backup files if you still can then reformat thE SD Card. Reinsert in your HTC G1 if successful reformat it again using your HTC G1 to acquire compatabilty on the device.. hope this help...
