I bought a new LG Monitor, W1946S, a couple of days ago. First time I used it after connection it worked fine, since then it is in Power Save Mode when switched on and stays that way. If I press the...

Firstly take it straight back and change it, if its a hardware issue then you want it changed sooner rather than later when it might run out of short term warranty.

Secondly, be sure that the vga/dvi cable is plugged in securely at both ends, it has to recognise the signal from the pc to turn its monitor on and start displaying. But change the monitor and fast!

Suddenly today, for no reason, the monitor stopped turning on when the "on" button is pushed. I have checked the cords numerous times, and both the monitor and the computer have been turned off and on...

Try swaping power cables of CPU and monitor. Also, check power button on Monitor. Make sure you have power supply in boards.

Second, try removing VGA cable from CPU and check what you see on screen, if any display like no signal or no vga. That means your Monitor is working but onboard VGA has problem.

Hope this helps a bit to try yourself before taking it to repair center.

This is a problem with the power supply unit inside the monitor, there is no easy way out here. If you keep on using your monitor like this eventually it won't switch on no matter how long you wait. Keep on using it like this for the time being without switching off anything but ultimately you will have to take it in for repairs or otherwise purchase a new screen..

Philps LCD Monitor Won't turn on Straight away

That is definitely a problem with the monitor...if its under warranty have it replaced...if not...start looking for a replacement it hardly ever is worth it to have them repaired (shipping, parts, labor is usually a little less than a new monitor). Sorry

Screen not appearing straight away

It could be your LCD backlight giving you problems till it warms up. Turn you computer on and while the monitor is displaying black and the power LED is green shine a flashlight in the lower left hand corner of your screen. Look for the ?Start? button, if your backlight is not working you?ll see a faint ?start? button if you look closely. A 15" LCD monitor is probably not an economically repairable problem unless you have access to really cheap parts and have the skills and tools to do the repair yourself.

No power to the monitor

You can try buying a new power cable (they are very cheap) Also sometimes this sleeping monitors just "come to life" after some time without using them but when this happens it is usually a bad sign.

FPD 1760 Flat screen monitor

Take a flashlight and shine it at the LCD screen while after it goes black. If you can see the screen images still then your backlight is the problem. Let us know what the results are and please don't forget to rate this post.
