In the System Settings Menu, go to the 3rd page, then select "PARENTAL CONTROLS."

• Select "YES," to change the parental controls.
• You will be prompted for your 4-digit PIN.
  
  If you know the PIN, select the empty text box and enter the PIN using the on-screen keyboard, then select "OK" to continue.
  
  If you don't know the PIN, select "I forgot," then select the empty text box for the answer to the secret question and enter it using the on-screen keyboard. Select "OK" to continue.
  
  
  
  If you don't know either the PIN or the secret question, the Parental Controls will need to be reset.
  
  
  An Enquiry Number will be displayed. Ring the number given in the Nintendo DSi Operations Manual and provide the Enquiry Number. You will then be issued with a Master Key. Tap "OK" and enter the Master Key. Tap "OK".
  
  
• Select "PIN" to change the PIN or "CHANGE SETTINGS" to update the setting you wish to change. Once the changes are made, select "DONE" to confirm any changes.

1. • If neither the secret password or the pin is known you many need to call Nintendo who will be able to reset your password remotely, this is there number 1-800-255-3700. This may be time consuming but it is the only way to recover your password without doing a hard reboot.

"oxygen" is the master reset password. :)

you should perform a factory reset that will reset all default settings an unlock your parental control

In your console enter to the parental control menu and try to change it, when asking for password then:

1. Click "I forgot" twice.

2. Go to http://wii.marcansoft.com/parental.psp

3. Copy the inquiry code where it says "Confirmation Number:".

4. Select your "Current Date in your timezone:"

5. Push the "Get Reset Code" button and get your master code.

6. Try to change again the parental control and use the code provided, the code should work as I tested it many times.

NOTE1: the code generated in this page work as well for Wii and DSi consoles.

NOTE2: If it doesn't work the first time, try going to http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/ . Change the time/date on your DSI to match that of Tokyo, London, some other location etc and then try again.

how do u delete a password from your dsi

The other solution is to go over to http://wii.marcansoft.com/parental.psp and from here, you can provide the confirmation number on your DSi, and get your reset code. Unlike the 1-800-255-3700 solution, this one is available 24/7.

Despite it saying Wii Parental control reset tool, it also applies to DSi as well.
