Screen says reinsert the memory stick but memory card is already inserted

Camera keeps telling me to reinsert the memory card. I've tried to new cards. When I put the memory card I was replacing because it is full, it goes back into the camera just fine.

As a last resort you could copy the full card to a computer and then delete the pictures on the card and use that again.

Here is the error list from the camera manual.
This is all I can suggest from here.

"Reinsert the Memory Stick Error"

Hi,
The camera may display a MEMORY STICK ERROR or C:13:xx message (xx can be any random number) on the LCD screen for the following reasons:
IMPORTANT: If model-specific information is required to complete any of the steps in this solution, refer to the operating instructions supplied with the product. Manuals are available online in the Manuals/Specs/Warranty section of the Sony® eSupport Web site.

Remove and re-insert the Memory Stick® media several times.
The inserted Memory Stick media is not compatible with the camera. Check your instruction manual for information regarding Memory Stick media compatibility.
The inserted Memory Stick media is not formatted. Format the Memory Stick media using the FORMAT option in the camera menu. WARNING: There is a risk of data loss. Formatting will erase all stored data, images, movies, etc., from the Memory Stick media.
The terminals on the Memory Stick media are dirty. Remove the Memory Stick media from the camera and use a soft dry cloth or pencil eraser to clean the contacts. Make sure there are no residual particles on the Memory Stick media before re-inserting it into the camera.
The data on the Memory Stick media or the Memory Stick media itself is damaged. Try using a different Memory Stick media in the camera.

How can i recover the pictures in my SD pro duo memory card which when inserted in my Sony DSC W330 it appears reinsert the memory card which infact it is already inserted? pls help me.,what should i do?

you can recover pictures from sd card with SD Card Recovery Software like asoftech photo recovery, the card recovery software not only recover photos, but also videos, music files and other files. download the software from

How to fix "reinsert memory

There 3 possible causes why do you received an error message " reinsert memory card"

Cause
1 The inserted Memory Stick media is not supported for use with the camera.
2 The terminals on the Memory Stick media are dirty.
3 The Memory Stick media is damaged

Resolution
1 Ensure you are using the supported type and capacity of Memory Stick media for use with the camera
2 Use a clean pencil eraser and lightly rub the Memory Stick terminals to remove any oxidation or dirt build-up
3 Use different Memory Stick media

if you bent the card, you broke components inside...your going to have to get a new card.

My sandisk memory stick pro duo wont work anymore

I have a Sony Cybershot DSC T70 and it keeps saying "Reinsert memory stick" whenever I turn on the camera or slide down the camera lid. Also, whenever I try to view the pictures on my laptop it shows "Please reinsert the memory stick" something along those lines. As I have been researching for the solution, I would have to format the memory card. However, I wouldn't want to lose the pictures as I just took many as from the holiday last week. The only problem is the memory card, I tried using another memory card and it works fine with the camera. There is nothing wrong with the camera.\r\nCan someone please help me how to solve the memory stick problem? It would be great. Ty.

The problem is with the memory card. It probably just shorted internally and is no longer useful. The amount of memory is not the problem, as I used a 4GB card for a long time and my card finally went bad. You will just have to get another memory card and MAYBE find someone to be able to retrieve your data.

Get the card out ..be sure it is no locked...and it is inserted in the proper way ..if it still says the same after this ..verify the card into a card reader to see if it is ok ..cause if it is damaged the camera will not see it .....If you just replaced this card and it is new ..be sure you format it in Fat 32 before using (can be done in computer or in the camera ) ..also be sure that the camera is supporting the size of the card if it is a new one and never used before in this camera ..

Also please check whether you're using a Compatible Memory Stick with the Camera.

It's not recommended to Format the Memory Stick in the Computer.
The Memory Stick should be Formatted in the Camera only, other wise such error messages can occur.

Please try using a different Memory Stick and check whether the issue persists with the other Memory Stick.
This is to check whether the issue is with the Memory Stick.

The problem is with the memory card. It probably just shorted internally and is no longer useful.
