Hp color laserjet 2840 will not scan, hp toolbox device will not work. Unistalled and reinstalled drivers 3 times via phone with HP printer tech support. Nothing works. Operating system is Windows Vista Home Premium connected to USB cable. When using "c prompt" and typing "netstat -na" TCP ports 127.0.0.1:5225 were at first had a state of FIN_WAIT_2 or CLOSE_WAIT. Trying with tech support to open these ports the port is now totally absent when using "c prompt" and typing "netstat -na"

My HP color LaserJet 2500L printer will only print yellow or black. All the toners are good and the machine has been re-calibrated and cleaned but it will not print full color

Print cartridges might be improperly installed. Remove the print cartridge for the color that is printing inconsistently and reinstall it. im sure you tried this already, but thats from the manual. also check your settings in the computer verify greyscale is not selected. also. Re-calibrate anyway To calibrate the printer from the HP Color LaserJet 2500 Toolbox 1 Open the HP Color LaserJet 2500 Toolbox in one of these ways: • On the desktop, double-click the HP Color LaserJet 2500 Toolbox icon. • On the Start menu, point to Programs, point to HP Color LaserJet 2500, and choose the HP Color LaserJet 2500 Toolbox. 2 On the Troubleshooting tab, click Diagnostic Tools (on the left side of the screen). 3 Click Color Calibration. Then try a test page. if all else fails Try this The NVRAM reset is done by powering off the machine. Press and hold the Go button. Turn the printer on and continue to hold the Go button. After the Go, Ready, and Attention LED's tuirn on, continue holding for at least 20 seconds. During this process, the Attention, Ready and Go LED's will each turn off. Release the Go button. The device LEDs will begin cycling from front to back. The NVRAM init process runs unitl the printer is in the Ready state.

I get an error message when I scan. It says Error

ISSUE: The error Waiting for PC is displayed on the control panel when scanning, using the Start Scanbutton on the control panel. The user will also notice a Not Setup on PC error when pressing theScan to … button. Note that scan from the PC works properly without an error. SOLUTION: The probable causes for this issue are listed below:
  • Firewall denying access to PC
  • Device polling not enabled
  • The scan to function is not enabled in the HP Toolbox
  • The destination has not been added to the Scan to button from HP toolbox
  • The HP Toolbox is losing the scan to destination
How to troubleshoot this issue:
  1. PC protection software such as firewall software may prohibit proper communication between HP AiO products and Toolbox and scanning software. Firewalls may need to be reconfigured to allow Toolbox to communicate with the AiO. The Toolbox software is similar to Microsoft Outlook and Internet Explorer in this way. Temporarily disabling firewall software may be helpful in determining if it needs to be reconfigured for Toolbox to operate properly. Please contact your third party firewall software vendor if assistance is needed to reconfigure the firewall. The following third party support Web sites may be useful:
  2. When Device Polling is turned off, the Alerts and the Scan to e-mail or folder options in the HP Toolbox are disabled, and the START SCAN function on the HP LaserJet AiO product control panel is also turned off. CLICK HERE for instructions on how to turn on Device polling.
  3. To program the device SCAN TO ... button, view the device settings. Open the HP Toolbox and click the Scan to tab. For more information, CLICK HERE to view the document titled HP Color LaserJet 2840 AiO Series Products - How to use "Scan To E-mail" or "Scan to Folder" from the Device
  4. The User loses the folder when choosing to save scanned files under the Scan to Folderoption of the Scan to Tab. The User also may lose the email settings under the Scan to Emailoption of the Scan to Tab. The User restarts the toolbox and it works for some time and the problem repeats again. Perform the following in the order listed to resolve this issue:
    1. Run the Fix Scan Utility and see if it resolves the problem. Click here for the Fix Scan Utility at http://www.hp.com If not, proceed to the next step.
    2. Check the firmware version and make sure that it is up to date. print a configuration page to see what the current firmware version is. Compare it to the latest version offered on HP.com Click here for HP.com at http://www.hp.com . If it is not the latest version then upgrade it to the latest version available on the web.
    3. Download the Software Update Version 3.0 from HP.com and install it. Click here to download the software update from http://www.hp.com
  5. For Toolbox Reset Persistent Data issues, CLICK HERE to view the document titled HP Color LaserJet 2800 All-in-One series - Toolbox Reset Persistent Data
  6. If the issue persists, uninstall and reinstall the printer software. CLICK HERE to view the document titled HP LaserJet 2820 and 2840 AiO Series Products - Uninstalling or Removing the Printing Software and Shared Components

HP LaserJet 1500... prints color yellow ONLY

It's possible that the toner in the cartridge is not evenly distributed. You can redistribute toner if you gently shake the cartridge from side to side, then reinstall it to see if this affects performance. Please also see this article.
You might wish to use the guided troubleshooting option available from HP support here. Or have a look at the troubleshooting section in the user manual here. Then clean the engine & calibrate the printer, as described pg. 88.
If that's no help, please see this forum post and the linked attachments within.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!

Hp Laserjet 2840 was scanning, suddenly it stopped and gave the message "An error occurred communicating with the scanning device. Please ensure that the scanning device is connected properly and try...

I pulled this from the HP boards from Charlie Bravo

I tried it and it worked for me. (this is a network setup.)
MY FIX (Windows XP):
After trying numerous things, here is what I resolved:

1) Problem: when trying to scan using my 2820 Color Laserjet using "Solution Center", I got the dreaded, yet common error: "An error communicating with the scanning device. Please ensure that the scanning device is connected properly and try again"
My device: HP LJ2820 Color Laserjet

2) The printer worked fine when printing to it and also, scanned fine when using the Windows Wizard (Start/All Programs/Accessories/Scanner and Camera Wizard

3) Hewlett-Packard Support was less than worthless since they used my time and provided no useful information. Their ineptitude is legendary as we all know... To add insult to the injury, the rep wanted to charge me $25 for the "incident" which happens to be to not only identify teir bugs but also to report and fix them as an unwitting test site. Arrogant of them to say the least !

4) SOLUTION: Added an entry in the HOSTS and lmhosts file (this file is located in WINNT/SYSTEM2/DRIVERS/ETC ):
192.168.1.1 HP Color Laserjet
The 192... etc is the default gateway for my printer (look in toolbox and get the network report for yours, my printer is connected using the network, wired to a Linksys router)

Dont's bother with "reinstalling", "de-installing", etc. the problem is related to addressing and not corrupted drivers. It's simply a HP bug, nothing else.

5) Ran the "patch" col10862.exe from the hp site, listed under an unrelated problem to an unrelated printer. http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/genericSoftwareDownloadIndex?cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&softwareitem=sj-32245-2&jumpid=reg_R1002_USEN

6) Now I can can use the the scanner I paid for...

7) Time to resolve the issue: 2 minutes. time to find the resolution to the issue: 4 hours.

HP 2840 scan to folder problem

Kiss off your money and get a commercial grade AIO
like Ricoh or Samsung. The 2840 has been a problem for us since the check cleared. 2840 Phone support is worthless. All the other HP products we have work perfectly every time.
