I have a Kodak ESP 7 AiO printer that worked flawlessly with my WIFI (wireless) network running a D-Link wireless router. I have since switched to Qwest and got an Actiontec PK5000 wireless router. When I enter the network info on the Kodak ESP 7 it says it is connected and I can even view the flash memory on all computers on the network. I have let Bonjour and all Kodak programs through every firewall on every computer. I've tried both Dynamic and Automatic IP Addresses, as well as even set it up for static IP. All firmware and software upgrades are current. Still no luck! I've contacted Kodak about this and they seem to just give me the run around of the same old basic things to try that the FAQ or troubleshooting states to do. All computers are running Windows 7 and the only way I can get it to connect or recognized is by hooking it up via USB to my desktop. Maybe this is a bug with the Kodak software, Windows 7, or maybe even the router??? Any Suggestions Appreciated!
The ACTIONTEC GT124, M1000 and PK5000 Routers are not compatible with wireless-enabled all-in-one printers. These routers cannot connect to your all-in-one printer because they do not support the multicast protocol. Contact your router supplier for additional assistance and to determine if your router will be able to support the muticast protocol in the future.
Today I contacted Kodak about my ESP5250 wireless printer and they said it won't work with the Actiontec PK-5000 because it does not multicast. My old Actiontec wt-701-wg worked fine, but qwest couldn't find any other answer for me for my problems with intermittent stalling of my browser, so they told me my 5 year old modem was too old and to buy a new pk-5000. Same problems. Tonight I contacted qwest to tell them about this problem and they said it is now a known problem, and recommended an actiontec Q1000. Hope they tell the girls in the Phillipines this. Hope this helps.

YES I HAVE THE SAME CONNECTION PROBLEMS WITH THE PK 5000 I ALSO HAVE THE KODAK 5250 WIRELESS PRINTER I HAVE BEEN TO INDIA FOR HOURS, (KODAK SITE, ''FOUR TIMES) THEY RECONNECT ME TO MY PRINTER, THEN SHORTLY AFTER, ''KERPLUNK'' I CONNTACTED QWEST, AND THEY SAID A Q1000 SHOULD WORK? I'M DOUBTFUL, RELUCTANT TO CONNECT THE Q1000 HAS ANYONE HAD BETTER RESULTS WITH ANOTHER WIRELESS ROUTER BRAND?? IF SO PLEASE HELP THANKS, ED.
Hello again, this is [email protected]. I'm still in aquandary re, my ability to remain connected to my wireless printer. As I have stated before, my wireless printer is a Kodak 5250, and my router hookup is the PK5000 Qwest has sent me a Q1000 router that they say ''should'' work. I'm still reluctant to hook it up(all the hoopla that goes with it). The primary reason is, that Kodak says I will have better results either with the Netgear or Linksys router. Anyone with any knowledge or help with this dilemma would be ''most appreciated. I have been told this is an ongoing problem?? , Thanks
