SOURCE: Fridge drain is overflowing into base of fridge

Some insect would have gone into the drain pipe and blocked the outlet for the water to flow and it gets collected inside.

First please clean the drain pipe and remove any block.

Defrost your refrigerator at least once in three days.

Excess ice formed in the freezer chamber will result in less cooling and melting of ice and make it run down.

The above remedies should solve your problem

SOURCE: Fridge running hot!

One you can to try and extend the life of the fridge is to vacuum off the compressor and coils. They can be located either behind the toe grill on the bottom front or through an opening on the back of the fridge. It is natural for a fridge to blow warm air.

Testimonial: "I vacuum cleaned the coils and compressor. Everything seems OK. I know it is necessary for a fridge to give off heat; but it seemed excessive."

SOURCE: I have a maytag MSD2754GR, the freezer bottom is all iced

The drian hole has become stopped up and ice has accumulated in the the drian hole. You will need to unplug the fridge and remove the cover on the back (located at the bottom, 6 screws). On the freezer side there is a drian hole with a rubber 90 and a clear line that runs to the drain pan. Remove line and unstop. Don't not put the line back on yet.

Now for the fun part, remove the basket and the two bottom shelves from the freezer. Half way up the back there are 2 screws that need to be removed. After removing screws pull up on the top cover to so you can remove the bottom cover. The bottom cover maybe froze to the coils and to the inside drain pan. Break the ice with a butter knife, and remove cover ( do not hit the coils). Now you need to break the ice that is froze to the the pan and under it. Once you have remove all the ice you will see the drain hole, use a small pointed object to break ice that is in drain hole. Now you can put the drain line back on and make sure that the other end is in the drain pan under the fridge. Now reassemble the fridge and plug it back up.

It took me about 20 minutes to do this.

Hope this helps.

SOURCE: Maytag MSD2456GEB fridge section warm

Please remember I am attempting to diagnose your appliance without being there and with very little information.
Sorry but if your freezer is 10 degrees, it is running warm. Freezer is designed to run between -10 and 0 degrees. Reset controls, place them in the middle of the scales. The controls can be confusing. The control that turns the unit on and off is your freezer thermostat and the other is the damper that controls the air flow from the freezer into the fresh food section. What I would think is wrong with your unit is one of two things.

  1. You have a defrost problem.
  2. Your inside fan is not running.
1. Look at the inside back panel of your freezer. If you have ice or frost built up on the panel, you most likely have a bad defrost heater.
2. Check to be sure you have air flow inside your fresh food section coming from your freezer. If not and your control is setting around mid-ways, you have a bad fan or your defrost heater is bad and ice is blocking the air flow.

If the evaporator coils behind the back panel of the freezer are icing up because of auto defrost failure that will stop the circulation of cold air and eventually affect the freezer too.

GE Profile Refridgerator side warm, freezer ok?

Fridge gets cold air from freezer to cool it. Your freezer is fine but not enough cold air is getting into fridge compartment. U have some dampers or louvers that direct air flow to fridge and if they are not set properly cooling will not be adequate. Check those out.

I have a Maytag side-by-side MSD2754GR Refridgerator. The ice and water dispenser is sticking and does not shut off immediately. Can this be repaired or will I need to purchase new parts.

NOTE: This
is a multi-solution answer since I don't have all the tech from your question to pinpoint your problem
But the solution is in here generically, if you read and study the solutions very, very carefully.
Check Temp inside freezer. It has to be down to about 10 or 15 degrees
This can cause slow ice making if its too high even tho its freezing everything else at 25 degrees
See if water is in icemaker.
Pour water in Ice Maker and wait to see if it ejects.
If it ejects thenyou need to replace water valve in rear bottom of fridge(Its the part that
attaches to water line out of wall)
If it doesn't eject then it is a faulty Ice Maker.
If its leaking same part needs replaced. The water valve at the bottom rear of fridge
First I would check the fan in the freezer. Listen to see if it is running
It moves air to the ref from the freezer
Then check to see if freezer control is turned WARMER, which makes the Ref. colder
Also if it is getting drinking water to the door but not to the icemaker (or vice versa) Then you need to replace
the water valve at the bottom rear of the fridge. It is a double valve and one side is not working
Also this might be a common Defrost problem, Ice
is not being melted by the defrost system. The fan can't blow through the coils into the fridge.
Take out back panel of freezer to check for ice buildup. The coils should be clean.
There are three components to a defrost system- a heater, heater thermostat, and a timer unless you have a defrost electronic card.
Its best handled by a Technician but you could possibly do it by taking your model number to the nearest appliance parts store and asking for the parts. They are mostly located in freezer ,behind back panel on freezer coils.except the card which is usually located in ref The parts store will have info
Also check fan undernearh Ref in the rear
Clean condenser coils underneath

Maytag side/side model MSD2754GR- Ice maker while filling overflows running out of freezer section onto floor.

Remove the back panal in the freezer compatment to reveal the evaporator. You will notice the drain pan frozen up with ice. pour hot water on it or blow hot air with a hair drier. If the fridge is turned off the ice will melt and clear the drain hole. When the ice is cleared the water will be alowed to flow out to the evaporating pan under the fridge. Be sure that the water runs freely out of the fridge and allow a few hours to dry. Good luck. Be careful not to damage the evaporating coils.

The display unit keeps flashing on the fridge side on my samsung RS20CCVS.

When the temperature indicator flashes indicate then the temperature has ridge a level lower the the set temperature for example if you set you fridge side to 36 degree and and has fail to stop from getting cooler and has ridge 34 degree. some times those friges fail to calibrate them self tray by unplugging you dirge for 30 seconds and replug it then the board will auto calibrate for the next 24 hours If this problem comes back again that meas than your defrost element on the fridge side is bad.

GE model TFX22R ice maker problem

First clean out the condensor coils. If you have pets it should be done at least 3 times a year. The other possible problem is if the gasket in either the fridge or freezer is worn out or has a gap it will not cool properly. Check that the fan underneath the unit by the condensor coils is running when the compressor is . Some smaller refrigerators have only condensor coils on the back and no fan. These units should have room for air flow on top and sides not built in flush with cabinets. Buy a thermometer for both the fridge and freezer compartments. You run the risk of food poisoning if the fridge temp can not be kept below 40 degrees. Freezer temp should be able to keep at least 0 - 5 degrees. (Ice cream is a very good indication of proper temp. It is the first thing that melts. Ice maker is a close 2nd.)

If these things don't work call for repair. Don't risk losing all your food!
