Panasonis NV-DS38 all works fine S video, sound connection although it only work properly with a 3 band 3.5 mm jack but the firewire is dead. Not the cable or computer as my Sony camcorder works fine thro firewire. connector in camera looks OK not damaged.

I´ve had same trouble, nothing help me to get tape on, then I tried to recharge the battery (new spare battery, only had 2 earlier charge) and voilá, it work´s again. So there was somekind of trouble with the new battery I got, that is not original part I don´t know if that matters,

Yes that is correct.

You have to use a separate charger as the "DC in" socket is on the camera body underneath the battery.

Where on the camera did you connect the power lead???? I can't find it.

its that cable is not working so pls chang the pci card r firewire cABLE

first u change ur firewire cable then chenge you pc slot in computer try it

I also have the same problem and after almost buying a replacement I thought I would try one time to get it to go.

What I did was start the cam without a tape in it, let it bring up the little red icon indicating no tape inserted, (it hadn't started flashing "PLEASE RE-OPERATE AFTER PUSHING RESET BUTTON" at this stage) then I inserted my tape. Hey presto, it works although for how long I don't know. I'll immediately start burn my tapes to disc while the going is good.

all you have to do is try to connect your cam corder in win xp operating system..if its work in that OS, im sure your cam corder is for win xp only not for a win vista os.. just try it..thanks..

heads may be worn ( LP suffers , more ) but try cleaning cassette , first ;
