My playstation3 is not reading any disc. What should i do?

You need to first clean the drive with a dvd lens cleaner, it's relatively harmless your your disk drive, and make sure that the disc you are trying to read is clean, with no blemishes or smear marks. If these do not work for you, your drive needs to be replaced.

you need to purchase a lazer disc cleaner it looks and works just like a normal dvd disc but it has brushes on it that when put through the player brushes the dust of the laser lens this needs to be done on a regular bases to keep your lazer working to its optimum level and hense fixing your problem.

There is a known issue if you have a original 40-60GB Playstation3. What has happened is the Blu-ray laser has become damaged or is dirty. What you can try to do is clean the laser by using a CD cleaner which if you dont own will only cost about £5. If this does not fix your problem then it is most likely the lens. If your Playstation3 will play DVD's or Music CD's then it is the lasor to read Playstation games. You will need to ring the sony hotline which is free of charge. There you can speak to an assistance who can point you in the right direction. If you have had your playstation under 1 year then you will have a warranty meaning a free replacement with should only take up to about 3-5 working days.
Note: If the console displays an error on screen after you try to play a disc, record it and google the error code. If that doesnt help then post it on here and I can help you further.

Make sure the disc isnt severally scratched, or dirty. Your Playstation3 most likely cannot read the disc because of the following. If it is only that game then I recommend replacing the disc.

will it read any discs? if not then your laser is either dirty or needs replaced.

just open the screws from the back of the device and from the sides and the cover will come out and everything will be clearly seen inside .just clean the lens with a clean moist tissue.its made of very thin and transperant glass and is very delicate so do it care fully and then the device will read the disc.

The optical lens malfunctioning and it need to be cleaned or replacement.

try cleaning the lens...
