Unfortunately, the needle spec is tied to the catridge not the model of the turntable. Are there any numbers on the cartridge itself? Do you have a needle that is broken or is it missing completely? If you can post a picture of the needle, I should be able to match it. Post any numbers you find as well.

Thanks,
Dan

Thanks for the update. I'll look up that number when I get back to the shop and update this with what I find. In the meantime, if you can request any additional numbers that may be in the cartridge as well. That way I have an alternate way to confirm the correct needle.

    Thanks,

    Dan

I bought a new turntable and it doesn't spin straight, causing the record to skip and bounce

Sounds like you have a warped platter. If you bought it new, return it and get a replacement. If you got it used, contact the manufacturer for a replacement part.

I have purchased two ARK IV white elliptical Stylus replacement needles for my turntable and I am not getting the life out of these items, despite very limited play time. Seems like they just wear down...

What's the turntable? Skipping across the record would be a (mal)function of tracking and anti-skating. The recommended tracking force for this stylus os 3.0 grams. I've been out of the vinyl groove for some years now but I remember my Shure M95 tracking in the range of 1-1.5 g. Railroad spikes track at 3.0. Is this for 'scratching' or whatever it is they call that noise?

I have a Zenih Allego table type stereo with 8 track, radio & turntable, but it has NO cartridge at all - just wires from the needle arm. It's supposed to play 78s, how can I find out which cartridge...

You will need a very old type of cartridge called CERAMIC CARTRIDGE or CRYSTAL CARTRIDGE. It has been discontinued. Today's Hi-Fi use magnetic cartridge. Check out this link below

Tonearm Weight, Good Replacement Stylus, Gain level

Most good turntables will track with weights between 1.25 and 1.5 grams. Any more than that and you are putting alot of pressure on the needle. Experiment a bit and make sure that the needle tracks well and that the sound is good. The less weight you use, the longer the needle will last and the less wear on the record.

Belt on recordplayer (turntable)

Look at websites that sell Dj equipment.......search for places that sell technics turntables for DJs......and make sure they also have belt driven models like stanton turntables......if they do, then they might have the belt that you need. if they don't then they can probably order it for you or know where you can get the belt from!

if you wind up getting a new turntable, go with a direct drive model....they don;t have that problem as there are no belts!
