My dual shock controler just doesnt turn on, no red light, nothing! what should i do?

you will need a dual shock 2 ps2 controller. The mad catz controller is probably a dual shock 1 controller. Some games require the dual shock 2. It should say on the back of the game if the dual shock 2 is required. If it says something along the lines of "pressure sensitivity" or "pressure sensitive" on the back of the game case (where it says "1 player" or "2 player") ... then you will need a dual shock 2 controller. If this is not the case and it only says "analog controller" and "vibration" then you won't need the dual shock 2 controller. If the controller doesn't work for any games or even on the console main screen, then it must be the controller that is broken. Try turning the system on without a game in it and see if the controller works. Hope this helped :-)

The controller can work without the dual shock. The dual shock is probably messed up.

NO, THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE PAD, YOU SIMPLY HAVE TO CHANGE THE BATTERY IN YOUR PAD.

If it wont connect/sync with the power cable, and if it wont turn on with the power cable plugged in, its probably broken. Dual Shock controllers come with a one year warranty. If you call Sony 1-800-345-7669 and can prove the purchase of the controller, they should fix it/replace it. Nothing more you can do though if its not working properly.

try cleaning the jack at the end of the controller with a pin by the contact points then blow out the dust.
Also watch the ps2 system where the controller jacks in sometimes the the contact points in the game gets bent try straightening them!

okkkk now do this go to start menu then control panel then game controller then choose the category of ur remote

On the back of you dualshock pad next to the L2 button there is a tiny small hole witch looks like it could be a screw hole ! well this is the reset button once you have pushed this you will be able to conect your pad to your usb cable and it work on your console again

1.) i think u r controller pin is bend are broken

2.) or controller wire is cut

its better 2 buy a new controller

Removed accumulated dust sticking on the board were the buttons touches.use cotton balls with alcohol or use clean damp cloth.If nothing's happen check the cord I'm sure it is twisted badly, open your ps2 use this controller and try to twist back the twisted cord if it stopped sometimes when your twisting it then you have to replaced the cord(make sure that your using the original ps2 controller not imitation)pls. rate
