Working with BThome hub, When i connect the DSL to phone cable, I lose internet lights on home hub. When i swap them round i lose DSL on router but get internet lights on home hub

Means you have no internet connection. Try a new LAN cable between you router and internet modem. Connect directly to you internet modem make certain it is working. Reboot both devices.
The final solution is a factory reset of your router. You can do a factory reset by logging into the router using you browser. Go to the settings and perform a factory reset
If you forgot the router password, you ill have to do a factory reset by locating a small hold on the back of the router and insert the tip of of paper clip for about 10 seconds while the power is on. The router will be reset to out of box status and then you can set-up form scratch.
while connected with a wire surf using internet explorer into the routers console its either at 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 (most of the time anyway) , Enter the username and pass to get in, often both are admin or admin and blank. check the wireless tab settings in there to see if its enabled and configured.
Always check your LAN cable between your modem and the router and try a new cable. Login the make certain your router is configured correctly to connect to your mode.
Have you tried configuring your wireless settings? If your internet works hard wired, its just the wireless settings that need to be configured. Access the router's setup by going to http://192.168.0.1 and change the wireless channel. Make sure to check the wireless security as well and verify if you are using the correct wireless network key
Unplug both devices,and remove the cable/dsl line input to modem, wait 5 minutes, plug cable back it, then turn on modem, wait a minute, then plug in router.The signals should mesh.If not, buy a new router, theyre cheap!~
The Internet/WAN port on the router should be connected to your cable modem's internet port.
Then on your laptop, you should click on "View available wirless networks", your Router should show up there. click connect and you should be able to surf.
Note::The USB DWA 111 should be connected to your laptop and the drivers installed
