These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices. http://electro-medical.blogspot.com/
If blinks continue without any pause, the main board is faulty.

The main tv Tuner signal board have problems or it is dying or might be dead already. But sometimes this tv will still work and can be used,i have the same tv have the same problems it work for me all the times.By doing this process.Everytimes Power and OPC lights blinks.Just push the remote power switch again for tv to repower the tv power and OPC lights again, have go thought this process pushing power remote switch again have to do this like 3 or 4 times sometimes before the tv to work.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com or Ebay.com to buy a whole new refurbish main tv Tuner signal board for the replacement.
The television has gone into a coma. It is going to need to be serviced or replaced. The blinking code is a pattern. If you look at the power light and the opc light separately and independently, you can acquire the blinking pattern. Cover opc and look at power only. Note how many times it is blinking before it pauses. It might just blink steadily. Next cover power and look at opc alone. Note how many times it blinks before it pauses.
Depending on which model you have it might work if you leave the television unplugged overnight. The next day plug the television back in and wait for the blinking to start. Hold down the power button on the side of the television until the light stops blinking and turns red (usually right away). Let go. Press and release the power button once more and the light should turn orangish and then green. The television should turn on.
You can call Sharp and have a case file created and try and INIT with the customer service representative.
Ok This is how to troubleshoot the TV, there are lights on the front and you are mainly concerned with two of these lights (the power light and the OPC light). I) If non of the lights come on then this is a AC Power failure (There is a loose connection or you need to check the Power/Inverter unit or the Main unit) II) If the power light is blinking at a rate of one blink per min and the OPC light is off (then there is a CCFL backlight problem) III) If the power light is blinking at a rate of two times per min and the OPC light blinks at a rate of one time per min (13V/UR10V failure you need to check the Power/inverter board or the main board). IV) If the power light is blinking at a rate or two times per min and the OPC light blinks at a rate of two times per min (3.3V Main Failure check power/inverter board or Main board). V) If the power light is blinking at a rate or two times per min and the OPC light blinks at a rate of three times per min (UR6V failure check power/inverter board or Main board). VI) If the power light is blinking at a rate or two times per min and the OPC light blinks at a rate of Five times per min (Panel 5V failure check LCD control unit or control panel).
I have this model of the sharp tv.Happen to me very often the Power and OPC LED light indicators blink continueosly. Not the power supply board,it the Tuner board that take in the comming broscast signal that have the problems. You still can used this tv.Push the power button sometime the tv it will work right away. Not,each time POWER and OPC lights continueosly blinks.Just push the power button again each time the POWER and the OPC continueosly blinks.Just have push power button again about 4 times each time Power and OPC blinks recycles,it will finally show the backlight and picture come on.My guest,if u do this by pushing power button to recycles about 10-12 times each time the POWER and OPC blinks it time to change the Tuner signal board.
