How do I light my janitrol ucs100-55 heater?

you need to turn on the gas supply. then turn the button on the valve to the "light" position. now press down that button repeatidly until the pilot light lights, when the pilot lights you will need to hold that button down for about 15 seconds. then when you release the button the pilot should stay lit. when it does... turn the button to the "RUN" position. thats it... turn up the thermostat and the heater should kick in.

If the egnitor won't work will the pilot light with a match or lighter on a pro-com 300H P A

If you in fact have button to push and hold, that indicates the system has a standing pilot with a thermocouple. Usually a standing pilot does not have an ignitor. I say USUALLY because I do not know all systems by heart. At any rate, I have to assume your system has a manual igniter like a barbeque pit and you push and hold the button while pushing the ignitor manually then release the button after 30 seconds or so of burning.......

IF THIS IS THE CASE, you more than likely have a bad thermocouple. The thermocouple when heated generates electricity that holds the safety coil in that is held in when you depress the button. If it fails to hold in by the thermocouple, the likely culprit is the aforementioned thermocouple HOWEVER, there is a slight possibility that the coil internal of the gas valve is defective if it does it AGAIN with a new thermocouple installed.

ODS will not stay lit

The pilot generator (aka thermocouple) has gone out. This is the little peg that is mounted close to the front of the burner. The flame heats the thermocouple and it puts out a millivolt current that holds the gas valve open after you release the button. The TC is no longer putting out enough current to hold the valve open.
I beleive the part # is TT15c-11, (about $15)

I have a Vulcan Gas wall furnace that is not working. We cannot work out how to light the pilot light. According to the documents we have it is a 26.4MJ model or the 40MJ model

The Quazar manual says....
-Thermostat control knob to 0
-Then press and hold down * (Star) button
-The press the "ignition" button one or more times until the pilot lights
CONTINUE to hold the * button for at least 15 seconds and release slowly making sure the pilot stays lighted.
-If the pilot goes out.. repeats steps above and hold the * button for much longer than 15 seconds and THEN release the * button slowly.

Step by step instructions on how to start my heater

The correct order for lighting is:1)turn the valve to pilot. 2)hold the knob down and push the ignitor. It should light the pilot light 3) keep holding the button down for 15 to 30 seconds. 4)when you release the button, the pilot light should stay lit. If so, turn the knob to the desired setting.

I lights when I hold the button down and goes off when I release it. It is a model for propane and says model 100,104,106,110. reddy heater

You need to hold the button down for 15 to 30 seconds before it will stay lit. If you are doing that, the thermocouple is bad. They are cheap and can be found at any hardware store.

Pilot wont light

If the pilot light goes out when you release the primer, then the thermocouple is bad.You can try to adjust the thermocouple,if it can be.It needs to be in the pilot flame. If the thermocouple is not in the flame,it will not stay lit.If you can not get the pilot to light at all, with the primer pushed down, then replace the regulator. To light the pilot light, you need to turn the dial to pilot. Then press the primer button down and hold it.The primer is either built into the turn knob,or it is a res button.Hold the primer down, and light the pilot, continue holding the primer down for at least 40 seconds. Then release the primer slowly, and if the pilot light starts to get weak, and try to go out, then push back down, and hold 30 seconds more. After the pilot stays lit, turn the knob to furnace or low,or whatever the directions say.

The pilot light will not stay lit to light the heater.

The power pile (pilot generator) is defective. It produces a milivolt signal to ensure to keep the gas valve open. If it goes bad, the valve thinks the pilot is out, even when you are holding the button down, so when you release the button, it shuts the gas off to prevent excess gas buildup and a possible explosion.
