Range control panel started smoking, I checked it out and found control panel had burnt out. I changed the panel, now clock continually flashing.
And F5 01 displays everytime you try to switch on a ring.
Paperwork suggests break between power board and UIB.
What do I check to find out what part is at fault?

Try just unplugging the unit for about 5 minutes. That will reset the clock and hopefully fix the problem. If not you probably need to replace the clock.

Some of the codes in the clock where programed backwards....some may show E-1,and F-5 and some may show F5 - E1.
F5 - E0 F5 - E1 and E2
Check door/latch switch
Replace switch if defective
OR
F5,6,7
EOC failure
Replace EOC

you must remove the MW take off the cover then look for a large metal can (capacitor) and a white (ceramic) fuse...look and, smell and, you should find the cause

Make sure there is only 120vac on the white and black wires. You do not want to burn up a new control. Unless you already know why it fried...
